For a dependable starting point in Call of Duty: Mobile, use Low graphics, select the highest frame-rate option your phone can sustain without stuttering, and turn Depth of Field and Real-Time Shadows off. Tune Multiplayer and Battle Royale separately, then adjust sensitivity and HUD placement in small steps. These settings improve consistency and target readability, but no single preset is best for every phone, game mode, or player.
The best starting settings for most phones
Begin with the performance-oriented setup below. It is a practical baseline, not a promise that every device will run at the same frame rate or that every option appears in every game build.
| Setting | Starting choice | Why | When to change it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Graphics Quality | Low | Reduces rendering workload and is the performance starting point recommended by Google Play’s Call of Duty: Mobile settings editorial. | Raise it only if your usual matches remain smooth and the extra detail genuinely helps you identify targets. |
| Frame Rate | Highest available option that stays stable | A consistent frame rate is more useful in fast fights than a higher setting that causes hitching or instability. | Drop one step if you see stutter, sudden slowdowns, crashes, or inconsistent touch response. |
| Depth of Field | Off | Google Play identifies it as resource-heavy; disabling it can also remove blur that makes distant targets harder to read. | Turn it back on only if you prefer the effect and your device remains smooth. |
| Real-Time Shadows | Off | Another resource-heavy option identified in Google Play’s guidance. Removing it can reduce visual clutter. | Test it on a stable device if you value shadow detail more than consistency. |
| Anti-Aliasing | Test on and off | It can make edges look smoother, but its performance cost and availability vary by device and build. | Keep the version that leaves targets clearest without introducing stutter. |
| Bloom | Test on and off | Bloom changes bright-light effects rather than adding gameplay information. | Disable it if glare distracts you or stability worsens; retain it if the phone handles it comfortably. |
| Ragdolls | Test on and off | Ragdoll effects are listed among the graphics options in Activision’s controls guidance. | Disable them when you want fewer distracting effects during busy fights. |
After changing a setting, play in the mode you normally use instead of judging it from the lobby. A phone can appear fine in an empty practice area and still slow down during a crowded Battle Royale engagement.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteHow to change the graphics settings
- Open Call of Duty: Mobile and enter the main lobby.
- Open Settings, then the graphics or audio-and-graphics section. Menu names can move between releases, so use the current labels shown by your client.
- Choose Low for Graphics Quality.
- Set Frame Rate to the highest option currently offered for your device.
- Switch Depth of Field and Real-Time Shadows off.
- Change Anti-Aliasing, Bloom, and Ragdolls one at a time. Play several normal matches after each change so you can identify which option affected clarity or stability.
- Save or apply the changes, restart the game if the client requests it, and retest in both of your regular modes.
The available choices are device- and build-dependent. A setting being visible in a guide or on another phone does not mean your device supports it, and the name of a toggle may change after an update.

How to get more FPS without making the game unstable
Choose consistency over the largest number
The highest frame-rate label is useful only when the phone can sustain it. If matches alternate between fluid and choppy, choose the next lower option. A lower, steady setting gives you a more predictable view and touch response than a nominal maximum that repeatedly drops during combat. There is no device-independent FPS guarantee in the available guidance, so judge the result on your own phone.
Use a repeatable test
- Warm up in the mode you care about rather than changing settings after a single quiet match.
- Play several matches with the same graphics options and observe busy moments: multiple players on screen, explosions, vehicles, smoke, and rapid camera movement.
- Look for hitching, delayed touch response, sudden resolution changes, overheating, or a return to the lobby.
- If any of these occur, lower Frame Rate one step first. If the problem remains, keep the lower frame rate and reduce visual effects such as Anti-Aliasing, Bloom, or Ragdolls.
- Change only one option at a time, then repeat the same type of match. This prevents you from attributing an improvement to the wrong setting.
Recognize thermal and battery limits
A phone may run smoothly at the start of a session and slow after it becomes hot or the battery is low. Test the settings during the length of session you actually play. Keep the phone’s vents unobstructed, avoid playing in direct heat, and close competing apps before launching the game. These are practical stability steps, not a substitute for meeting the game’s minimum requirements.
Do not confuse minimum compatibility with performance
Activision’s support information, updated 25 February 2026, lists Android 6.0 or later with at least 2 GB of RAM, and iOS 15.0 or later with at least 2 GB of RAM, as minimum compatibility requirements. They do not promise a particular frame rate, graphics option, or high-setting experience. A device that meets the minimum can still need Low graphics and a reduced frame-rate choice.

Remove blur and unnecessary motion
Depth of Field is designed to blur parts of the scene. Turning it off keeps more of the image consistently sharp and follows Google Play’s performance recommendation. Real-Time Shadows can add contrast and detail, but they also consume resources and may create dark patches that compete with a character model. Start with both off; restore either only after confirming that it helps your own visual preference without hurting stability.

Evaluate bright effects instead of assuming they help
Anti-Aliasing, Bloom, and Ragdolls do not have a universal “competitive” setting in the available official guidance. Anti-Aliasing may smooth jagged edges, while Bloom can add glare and Ragdolls can add movement after an elimination. On one phone an effect may be inexpensive; on another it may reduce consistency. Test each toggle in the maps and lighting conditions where you usually lose sight of opponents.
Check the current enemy outline behavior
Call of Duty: Mobile’s Season 3 — Cyber Mirage announcement in March 2025 described a thin red line outlining Multiplayer enemies to improve visibility. Treat that behavior as version-sensitive: check your current client rather than assuming the outline is still active, available in every mode, or controlled by a setting. The announcement does not establish a permanent user-controlled toggle.
Multiplayer and Battle Royale need separate tuning
The Season 3 — Cyber Mirage announcement introduced a wider variety of graphics settings, including separate settings for Multiplayer and Battle Royale. Use that separation instead of forcing one compromise preset across both modes.

Multiplayer produces short, dense engagements with rapid camera turns and frequent effects. Start with Low graphics, the highest stable frame rate, Depth of Field off, and Real-Time Shadows off. If a bright effect makes a nearby opponent harder to distinguish, test Bloom off. If post-elimination motion distracts you during the next engagement, test Ragdolls off. Keep a note of the exact frame-rate choice that remains stable on your phone.

Battle Royale
Battle Royale can place more terrain, objects, players, and effects on screen. Use the same baseline, then stress-test it in a populated area and during a late-game fight. If the phone slows only in these scenes, lower the frame-rate option or another effect for Battle Royale without changing your Multiplayer profile. A setting that is stable on small Multiplayer maps is not automatically stable across a full Battle Royale match.
When a mode-specific option is missing
If your client shows only one graphics profile, apply the conservative baseline globally. If it exposes separate profiles, change and test each profile independently. Updates can add, remove, or relocate options, so follow the labels in the live client rather than an older screenshot.
Touch controls, sensitivity, FOV, and HUD layout
Graphics changes cannot compensate for controls that force you to move your thumb too far or turn past a target. Activision’s controls guidance documents customizable on-screen layouts, field of view, aim assist, camera sensitivity, and aiming sensitivity, but it does not establish one correct competitive value.
Build a comfortable HUD first
- Open Settings and the controls or layout editor.
- Place movement, fire, aim, crouch, jump, reload, and weapon-switch controls where you can reach them without covering the central sight picture.
- Resize buttons until accidental presses stop, while keeping the buttons large enough to hit during movement.
- Use the layout in your usual mode for several matches before making another change.
Keep a copy of a layout that works. A large update, device change, or switch between Multiplayer and Battle Royale can make a previously comfortable arrangement feel wrong.

It introduces powerful new features such as gyro settings, stick curve adjustments, and button-to-mouse mapping, giving you deeper customization and more control than ever before.
Adjust sensitivity in small increments
Camera sensitivity controls how quickly your view turns; aiming sensitivity affects movement while you are looking through a sight or otherwise aiming. Start from the game’s current default, change one sensitivity category by a small amount, and practice the same turn and target-tracking movements. If you routinely stop short of an opponent, increase the relevant value slightly. If you overshoot or cannot hold a target steady, reduce it. Do not copy a fixed number from another player: screen size, touch sampling, frame stability, grip, and preference all change the result.
Use FOV as a trade-off
A wider field of view shows more of the surroundings but can make distant targets appear smaller; a narrower view enlarges the center of the scene while showing less at the edges. Choose the value that lets you read your usual engagement distances. Change FOV separately from sensitivity so you can tell which change affected your aim.
Decide whether aim assist suits you
Aim assist is a configurable control category in Activision’s guidance. Leave it at your current setting while you establish a baseline, then test a change in normal matches. Keep the option that gives you predictable target tracking rather than assuming that enabled or disabled is universally superior.
Touchscreen versus controller
Touch controls are the default mobile interface. Activision documents controller support for Multiplayer and Battle Royale, but a controller does not replace touchscreen input for navigating menus such as lobbies, settings, and loadouts. If you use one, verify that your specific phone and controller pairing is supported, connect it before entering a match, and keep the touchscreen available for menu navigation. Controller support is optional; it is not required to use the graphics or visibility settings in this guide.

Practical presets by priority
| Priority | Graphics Quality | Frame Rate | Effects | Control approach |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Maximum consistency | Low | Highest setting that remains stable; lower it if needed | Depth of Field off, Real-Time Shadows off; test other effects off | Keep a simple HUD and adjust sensitivity slowly |
| Target clarity | Low or the lowest setting that stays sharp on your phone | Highest stable option | Depth of Field off; test Shadows, Bloom, Anti-Aliasing, and Ragdolls individually | Choose FOV and button placement that keep targets visible |
| Balanced appearance | Raise only after the Low baseline is stable | Reduce the frame-rate choice if visual upgrades cause hitching | Retain an effect only when it improves the image without instability | Use the same controlled, incremental tuning process |
| Battle Royale stability | Low is the safest starting point | Test in populated and late-game scenes | Disable effects that become distracting or costly in crowded fights | Use a mode-specific layout and sensitivity profile when available |
These are decision frameworks, not promises of a particular result. The correct row is the one that remains comfortable and stable on your device during real matches.
Troubleshooting common problems
The game stutters after choosing the maximum frame rate
Lower Frame Rate one step and retest the same mode. If stutter continues, keep Depth of Field and Real-Time Shadows off and test Anti-Aliasing, Bloom, and Ragdolls off individually. Do not raise Graphics Quality while diagnosing frame-time problems.
The image is smooth but opponents blend into the scene
Confirm that Depth of Field is off, test Real-Time Shadows off, and inspect FOV. A wider FOV may help you notice threats at the edges but can make distant models smaller, so compare it at your normal engagement distance. Also check whether the current game version still provides the red Multiplayer enemy outline described in the March 2025 seasonal announcement; it may not be present or configurable in your release.
Controls feel wrong after changing FOV
Return FOV to the previous value, then adjust camera or aiming sensitivity separately in small steps. FOV changes the apparent scale of movement, so changing both at once makes the cause difficult to identify.
A setting shown online is not available
Availability depends on device, operating system, game build, and mode. Update the client through your normal app store, reopen the graphics menu, and check both Multiplayer and Battle Royale profiles. Do not treat an older guide’s menu label as proof that the option should appear on your phone.
The phone meets the requirements but still performs poorly
The Android 6.0-or-later/iOS 15.0-or-later and 2 GB RAM figures are minimum compatibility thresholds, not performance benchmarks. Use Low graphics, choose a lower stable frame-rate option, close other apps, and retest after the phone cools. If problems remain, the device may simply lack enough sustained performance for higher settings.
Quick Recap
A short tuning checklist
- Start with Low Graphics Quality.
- Select the highest available frame-rate option that stays consistent in real matches.
- Turn Depth of Field and Real-Time Shadows off.
- Test Anti-Aliasing, Bloom, and Ragdolls one at a time.
- Create separate Multiplayer and Battle Royale profiles when the client offers them.
- Check FOV, aim assist, sensitivity, and HUD placement through practice rather than copying fixed numbers.
- Retest after updates because options and visibility features can change.
- Remember that minimum OS and RAM requirements do not guarantee high-setting performance.
