Best Buy’s TechTober sale was still running on October 8, 2026, when Tom’s Guide reported that Amazon’s October Prime Day event had ended while Best Buy’s sale continued, with up to 50% off a range of products. The offers below are the specific models with prices reported by Tom’s Guide (October 8, 2026) and TechRadar (October 5, 2026). Sale prices change quickly, so each figure is a snapshot from its publication date, not a guarantee of what Best Buy charges today.
What “still live” means for TechTober
TechTober is a short promotional window, and a roundup can only confirm that a deal was live on the day it was written. Tom’s Guide’s deals editor Millie Davis-Williams put it this way in the October 8 article: “Amazon’s October Prime Day sale, Prime Big Deal Days, is over — but Best Buy TechTober lives on.”
Best Buy’s own TV and home theater deals category also showed TechTober offers, including LG OLED models with reported percentage discounts, and savings on select TVs with installation or haul-away offers for certain TV categories. Those service terms vary by TV category and location, so check eligibility on the product page before assuming they apply to your purchase.
Tom’s Guide notes that purchases made through its links may earn it a commission, and its sale links point to Best Buy.

Laptops: Dell XPS 13
The Dell XPS 13 is the laptop example that appears in both roundups, and the two reports disagree on price. Tom’s Guide reported $599 from $799 on October 8. TechRadar listed $799 on October 5. These are different dates, and the reports may also describe different configurations, so do not treat them as a price history.
| Source and date | Reported price | Reported regular price | Configuration notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tom’s Guide, October 8, 2026 | $599 | $799 | 13.4-inch 2560×1600 touchscreen, refresh rates up to 120Hz, 2.2 pounds |
| TechRadar, October 5, 2026 | $799 | Not stated | Not stated in the report |
Before buying, match the processor, memory, storage and screen to the listing you actually see. Neither roundup gave a full processor, RAM or storage specification for the price it reported. For laptops more broadly, Tom’s Guide reported deals starting at $349, but a low entry price usually means a lower configuration, so compare the specification sheet before comparing the percentage off.

TVs: LG OLED and Hisense Mini-LED
TV prices depend heavily on screen size and panel type. The reported offers below cover three sizes and two panel technologies, so compare like with like.
| Model | Panel | Reported price (source, date) | Reported regular price | Notes as reported |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| LG 48-inch B6 4K OLED | OLED | $699 (Tom’s Guide, October 8, 2026) | $999 | 4K gaming up to 120Hz, up to 144Hz with VRR enabled, Dolby Vision |
| LG 55-inch C6 4K OLED | OLED | $1,299 (Tom’s Guide, October 8, 2026) | $1,999 | Described by Tom’s Guide as LG’s 2026 flagship OLED; brightness, color and gaming claims are the publication’s assessment |
| LG 65-inch C6 4K OLED | OLED | $1,499.99 (TechRadar, October 5, 2026) | Not stated | Different screen size from the 55-inch model above; not interchangeable |
| Hisense 55-inch U6SF Mini-LED | Mini-LED | $449 (Tom’s Guide, October 8, 2026) | $749 | Fire TV software and full-array local dimming |
Two points matter most when comparing these. OLED panels are self-lit, which typically means deeper blacks, while Mini-LED uses a backlight with local dimming zones; the Hisense’s price gap reflects that difference in technology as well as in size. Also confirm HDR and gaming support on the exact model, because the 48-inch B6 and 55-inch C6 are separate products with different reported specifications.

Speakers and headphones
| Product | Reported price (source, date) | Reported regular price | Notes as reported |
|---|---|---|---|
| JBL Go 5 portable Bluetooth speaker | $39 (Tom’s Guide, October 8, 2026) | $54 | Compact and portable; IP68 rating |
| JBL Charge 6 Bluetooth speaker | $149.95 (TechRadar, October 5, 2026) | Not stated | Larger than the Go 5; TechRadar also advised comparing retailers and bundle details |
| Beats Studio Pro headphones | $149 (Tom’s Guide, October 8, 2026) | $349 | Noise cancellation, Spatial Audio, up to 40 hours of battery life with ANC off; Tom’s Guide’s review found the clamping force high for some users |
For a portable speaker, the choice usually comes down to where you will use it. The Go 5 is the cheaper, smaller option, while the Charge 6 is bigger and heavier. Battery life, water resistance and any power-bank features should be checked on each model’s own specification page, because the roundups do not give a full comparison of those features. Tom’s Guide’s category threshold for Bluetooth speakers was $39 and up.
Gaming, tablets and other reported offers
| Product or category | Reported price (source, date) | Reported regular or comparison price | Notes as reported |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nintendo Switch 2 with Mario Kart World bundle | $549 (Tom’s Guide, October 8, 2026) | Claimed $37 saving versus buying the pieces separately | Includes the console, the game and three months of Nintendo Switch Online; verify the contents and the claimed saving before relying on them |
| Apple 11-inch iPad, Wi-Fi, 128GB | $399 (Tom’s Guide, October 8, 2026) | $449 | A16 chip, USB-C, camera and storage details; Tom’s Guide said Apple raised the list price in June 2026 |
| Video games | From $14 (Tom’s Guide, October 8, 2026) | Not stated | Category threshold, not a price for a specific title |
| Cameras | Savings claimed up to $1,000 (Tom’s Guide, October 8, 2026) | Not stated | Category claim; the individual models and their regular prices were not listed in the same report |
The Switch 2 bundle is worth comparing with the console sold alone and the game sold alone, because the saving depends on what you would have bought anyway. The iPad price is listed against a $449 reference, but Apple’s own listing is the place to confirm the current base price.

How to check a TechTober deal before you buy
- Open the product page on Best Buy and search for the exact model name or model number from the roundup. Confirm the screen size, panel type, configuration or bundle contents match what you intend to buy.
- Check the price shown on the product page, then confirm it again in the cart. A sale price shown in a roundup may have ended or changed.
- For TVs, confirm whether installation or haul-away is included, available in your area, or charged separately. Those costs can change the total price.
- For bundles, add up the price of each included item bought separately, then compare that total with the bundle price.
- Compare the same model at one or two other retailers before paying. A higher discount on one site does not prove it is the lowest price on another.
Which deals to compare first
- Laptops: compare the processor, memory, storage, screen and weight with the intended workload, not the discount percentage.
- TVs: compare screen size first, then OLED or Mini-LED, HDR and gaming features, and then the delivery or installation cost.
- Speakers: compare portability, water resistance, battery and power-bank features against where you will use the speaker.
- Bundles: compare the included hardware, game and membership against the cost of buying each item separately.
None of the examples above were tested side by side for this article. The figures and descriptions come from the two roundups named in each row, and the notes describe what those roundups reported.
