There is no single best Android browser for everyone. Choose Firefox if Android add-ons matter, Brave if you want built-in ad blocking enabled by default, Samsung Internet for Galaxy-oriented features, Edge for Microsoft account continuity and Copilot, or Chrome if you prefer Google’s browser and Android’s familiar default-browser setup. These are feature-based recommendations, not a ranking from a current independent speed or privacy test.
Which Android browser fits your priorities?
| Your priority | Browser to consider | What the available documentation establishes |
|---|---|---|
| Android extensions | Firefox | Mozilla documents an add-ons manager and installation steps for Firefox on Android; compatibility varies by add-on. Mozilla’s Android add-ons guide does not establish a current total extension count. |
| Ad blocking enabled by default | Brave | Brave says its Android browser blocks ads by default. Any claims about speed, energy use, or data savings should be treated as Brave’s own claims, not independent Android benchmark results. Brave’s comparison page is vendor material. |
| Galaxy integration and Secret Mode | Samsung Internet | Samsung documents Galaxy-oriented features, including Secret Mode. Content-blocking filters require separate apps, according to Samsung’s content-blocker guide. |
| Microsoft account continuity and Copilot | Microsoft Edge | Microsoft lists mobile sync for tabs, favorites, and passwords, as well as Copilot and InPrivate. Extension availability varies by operating system. See Microsoft’s Edge mobile page. |
| Google continuity and a familiar default-browser option | Chrome | Google explains how to set Chrome as Android’s default browser and change that setting. See Google’s default-browser instructions. |
What to consider before switching
Extensions and add-ons
Firefox is the clearest choice in this comparison if you want to install browser add-ons on Android: Mozilla documents an add-ons manager for its Android app. Compatibility is not universal. Mozilla’s support article, last updated May 28, 2024, cautions: “Some add-ons extensions may not be compatible with Firefox for Android.” Check whether the specific add-on you rely on is supported rather than assuming desktop Firefox extensions will work on your phone.
Privacy and content blocking
Brave says ad blocking is turned on by default in its Android browser. Samsung Internet supports content-blocking filters through separate apps, rather than treating those filters as a built-in feature that needs no additional installation; Samsung’s developer guide says, “Separate apps for such filters need to be installed.” Those documented differences can guide a setup choice, but they do not establish which browser offers the strongest overall privacy protection. No current independent Android privacy comparison is established here.

Choose based on where your saved browsing data and other devices already live. Microsoft lists syncing tabs, favorites, and passwords in Edge mobile. Google provides Chrome default-browser instructions and Chrome sync resources. The documentation supports those ecosystem features, but it does not show that one browser is universally easier or better for every person to sync.

- Please note, this device does not support E-SIM; This 4G model is compatible with all GSM networks worldwide outside of the U.S. In the US, ONLY compatible with T-Mobile and their MVNO's (Metro and Standup). It will NOT work with other CDMA carriers, and it is also not compatible with their MVNO (Visible, Xfinity Mobile, US Mobile, Cricket Wireless, etc).
- Compatibility with certain third-party devices and accessibility accessories, including some hearing aids, may vary depending on manufacturer support, Bluetooth protocols, software compatibility, and regional firmware limitations. For additional hearing aid compatibility information, please refer to Samsung’s official support documentation.

Phone-specific features
Samsung Internet is worth considering on a Galaxy device if its Galaxy-oriented integration and Secret Mode suit your habits. Those are product features, not proof that it is the fastest or most private option on Samsung phones. For other Android devices, compare the features you will actually use rather than assuming a browser’s name guarantees a device-level advantage.
Is one Android browser faster or more private?
The available evidence does not support naming an objectively fastest Android browser or ranking these choices by measured privacy protection. A fair comparison would use the same phone, Android version, browser versions, sites, and network conditions; no such current independent head-to-head test is established here.

Brave publishes performance claims on its own comparison page, but those figures are vendor claims, not independent measurements. The Competition and Markets Authority’s 2023 UK report described browser-engine competition and noted that Firefox’s Gecko was an exception among the Android browser vendors it examined using versions of Blink. That report is historical regulatory context, not a 2026 market-share or performance measurement. Read the CMA’s mobile browsers and cloud gaming case materials.
