As of October 5, 2026, the available evidence does not verify an active, device-specific buy-one-get-one phone deal for this week. Some offers advertised as “free phones” are trade-in discounts or require a new line rather than a second device. Before calling a promotion BOGO, confirm it requires buying two phones and specifies a qualifying discount or credit on one.
What counts as a BOGO phone deal?
A genuine BOGO offer requires purchasing two devices together and gives special pricing on one of them. Verizon’s general explanation says the lower-priced phone is the discounted device; both phones are financed, and monthly bill credits can offset some or all of the second phone’s installment. Both devices must be on eligible plans. Verizon’s BOGO FAQ describes these mechanics, but its example is not a current offer or price.
That distinction matters: “free phone” promotions may instead require a trade-in or a new line and cover only one device. Those can be worthwhile, but they are not BOGO unless the terms also require two devices and grant a qualifying credit on one.

Offers surfaced for this week
| Provider | What was listed | Does the available information establish BOGO? |
|---|---|---|
| Xfinity Mobile | An iPhone promotion for new and existing members requires a qualifying trade-in, a device payment plan, a Mobile Plus line, and Xfinity Internet. The page lists an October 8, 2026 end date. It also lists a separate $400-off iPhone offer without a trade-in, requiring a Mobile Plus line and device payment plan. | No. The listed terms describe phone discounts, not an offer requiring two devices. Xfinity offer page |
| T-Mobile | A September 28 report described free-phone promotions involving trade-ins, number porting, and qualifying unlimited plans. | Not established. The report is secondary, and the specific terms on T-Mobile’s official promotion page could not be independently checked. Tom’s Guide report; T-Mobile promotion page |
| Samsung | The manufacturer page lists time-limited offers and trade-in requirements; some listed offers had ended before October 5. | No live carrier BOGO offer is established by this page. Qualifying trade-in models and credits can change. Samsung offers |
| AT&T | The accessible offers-page content surfaced service and plan details rather than a specific current BOGO device offer. | No specific current BOGO offer is established by the accessible content; that alone does not prove none exists. AT&T offers |
How to check whether a BOGO is worth it
Promotional bill credits can make the second phone appear free over time, but the actual value depends on the required lines, plans, financing, and how long the credits continue. Compare every offer using the same details:

- Which two phone models qualify, their retail prices, and which is discounted.
- The credit amount, how many months it lasts, and when credits begin. Verizon says credits can take one or two billing periods to appear; check the offer’s own terms for its timing.
- The required plan for each phone, whether a new line or number port is necessary, and whether a qualifying trade-in is required.
- Upfront taxes and activation or connection fees.
- What happens to remaining credits if you cancel a line or end a device payment agreement early.
Read the specific promotion terms rather than relying on a carrier’s general FAQ: conditions can vary from offer to offer. Then add device payments and taxes, all required service charges for the full credit period, and upfront fees; subtract credits and any trade-in value. Compare that full-term total with buying unlocked phones and choosing service separately. No exact competing total-cost figures are established here.

Carrier promotions change quickly, and an offer page can list discounts without proving that a two-device BOGO is available. The evidence above does not support ranking a current BOGO deal or naming a best carrier offer. Recheck live terms before purchase, especially any listed expiration date. If you prefer to buy phones at retail, an unlocked smartphone is a separate comparison route—not a way to qualify for carrier bill credits. No particular unlocked model, price, or availability is established here.
