So there are no nine current Black Friday offers to recommend without guessing. The useful approach is to compare the exact MacBook configuration and the kind of offer—and add a listing to a shortlist only after its price, seller, and terms are confirmed.
What are the best Black Friday MacBook deals?
No verified 2026 Black Friday listings are established as of October 8, so this is a buying guide rather than a ranked list of nine live deals. A dated October sale is not a Black Friday offer: on October 6, MusicRadar reported that Amazon had a 13-inch MacBook Air M5 with 16GB of memory and a 512GB SSD for $1,099, against a stated prior price of $1,299. That was an October Big Deal Days promotion, not evidence of a Black Friday price, and the report disclosed that it may earn commission from purchases through its links. MusicRadar’s October 6, 2026 report
Apple’s Mac buying page listed starting prices of $699 for MacBook Neo, $1,299 for MacBook Air, and $1,999 for MacBook Pro when accessed October 8, 2026. Those are live-page starting prices, not guaranteed future prices or sale claims. Use the price for the exact configuration you want—not the cheapest model in a product family—as your reference. When genuine Black Friday offers appear, a useful shortlist should distinguish these kinds of candidates rather than pretending every configuration is comparable:

- MacBook Pro: consider a 14-inch or 16-inch model when your work calls for a Pro-tier chip or a larger display. Apple announced M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pro models in both sizes in March 2026. Apple’s March 11, 2026 availability announcement
- Other purchase routes: Apple lists trade-in, certified refurbished products, education pricing, and financing as options. Eligibility, trade-in value, and the total benefit vary; do not treat them as universal cash discounts. Apple’s Mac buying page
Apple also says the M5 Air family has Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. Its performance and battery claims are vendor claims under Apple’s stated testing conditions, not independent test results. Apple’s March 11, 2026 announcement Apple’s MacBook Air with M5 announcement
Should I buy a MacBook Air or MacBook Pro?
Choose by workload and configuration, not by the size of a claimed discount. The available product information establishes the current family sizes and chips, but it does not provide independent comparative testing. Use this as a practical starting point:

- UP TO 18 HOURS OF BATTERY LIFE — MacBook Air delivers incredible battery life with amazing performance, so you can power through a full day of classes without worrying about plugging in.
- A BRILLIANT 13.6-INCH DISPLAY* — The gorgeous Liquid Retina display on MacBook Air supports 1 billion colors, making photos and videos pop with rich contrast and sharp detail, and text appears supercrisp. So everything — from class presentations to movies to games — looks truly stunning.
| Option | Available sizes announced in 2026 | Consider it when |
|---|---|---|
| MacBook Air with M5 | 13-inch or 15-inch | You want an Air model and one of its two screen sizes fits your needs. |
| MacBook Pro with M5 Pro or M5 Max | 14-inch or 16-inch | You want a Pro model and need to choose between its two screen sizes and chip tiers. |
Before comparing two listings, match their chip, screen size, memory, and storage. Also check whether each is new, refurbished, or open-box, and whether the named seller—not just the marketplace—has the item in stock. A lower price on a different configuration or condition is not a like-for-like saving.
How can I tell whether a MacBook price is a good deal?
Start with the same configuration’s defensible comparison price, then check what the promotion actually gives you. A struck-through price alone does not establish that a saving is meaningful. No market-wide average Black Friday MacBook discount is established by the sources cited here.

- Match the model: compare chip, screen size, memory, and storage.
- Confirm condition and seller: identify new, certified refurbished, or open-box status and who fulfills the sale.
- Compare delivered cost: check the final price and availability for your location.
- Read the terms: verify the seller’s current return window and other conditions on its live listing or terms page. Specific 2026 retailer return policies are not established here.
- Classify the benefit correctly: separate an immediate price reduction from a gift card, trade-in credit, education price, or financing offer.
Historical examples illustrate why the date and offer type matter. Tom’s Guide’s 2025 roundup reported a 15-inch MacBook Air M4 at $949 against a stated $1,199 prior price, a 14-inch M5 MacBook Pro at $1,442 against $1,599, and a 14-inch M4 Pro MacBook Pro at $1,749 against $1,999. Those are historical 2025 examples, not current prices or evidence of 2026 deals. Tom’s Guide’s 2025 roundup
Apple’s own 2025 shopping promotion worked differently: Macworld reported gift cards of $200/£160 with select MacBook Air purchases and $250/£200 with select MacBook Pro purchases, for a promotion running November 28 through December 1, 2025. A gift card is not the same as an immediate reduction in the purchase price, and those terms applied to 2025—not 2026. Macworld’s report on Apple’s 2025 promotion

Should I wait for Black Friday to buy a MacBook?
There is no established 2026 offer that can show whether waiting will save you money. If you need a MacBook now, compare the configuration you want with its current same-configuration price and decide whether the available terms work for you. If you can wait, monitor that exact configuration and verify any later offer against its seller, delivered price, stock, and return terms. Neither the October Amazon offer nor 2025 promotions predict what will be available on Black Friday 2026.
