For most people seeking a current Android phone with a built-in physical keyboard, the Unihertz Titan 2 is the best-supported choice in this guide. Its regional Unihertz-branded listing specifies Android 15, an Android 16 upgrade, 5G and a full QWERTY keyboard. The Titan Pocket is smaller, but its manufacturer-listed Android 11 makes it an older-software option. Neither should be assumed to reproduce the Passport’s typing feel: there is no hands-on comparison here.
Which Android phone with a physical keyboard should you choose?
The Unihertz Titan 2 is the clearest pick if you want a built-in keyboard alongside a contemporary Android platform. Its manufacturer listing describes a square main display, rear screen, keyboard gestures and shortcuts, and 5G. These are listed specifications, not independently verified measurements. The seller, stock, price, shipping and warranty terms on the cited listing apply to its regional storefront, not every market.
The Titan Pocket may suit someone who prioritizes a more compact device, but it runs Android 11 according to Unihertz’s specifications page. Treat that as a significant software-age caveat, and check current update and security-support status before relying on it as a main phone.

#1 Best Overall
- A REAL PHYSICAL KEYBOARD, NOT AN APP: Hardware keys with genuine travel and spacing, built into the phone — not a touchscreen overlay and not a downloaded T9 app that double-types and lags. Thumb out a full message without looking at the screen.
- UNLOCKED 4G LTE FOR VERIZON, AT&T AND T-MOBILE — NAMED, NOT IMPLIED: Bring your own SIM from any of the three major US networks or their prepaid brands and keep your number. Dual SIM runs a work line and a personal line side by side on one device. No carrier contract, no activation lock.
- ABOUT 48 HOURS ON A CHARGE: Two days of real use between charges, because there is no feed running down the battery in the background. Dual-band Wi-Fi, USB-C fast charging, 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, expandable to 128GB with a microSD card.
- MODULAR — SWAP THE PART, NOT THE PHONE: The keypad lifts out and swaps between full QWERTY and T9 numeric. So does the camera module, between 13MP and 20MP. Change your mind about how you type, or upgrade the camera, without buying another phone — the reason this costs more than a disposable handset and lasts longer than one.
- BUILT FROM SCRATCH TO PROTECT YOUR FOCUS: This is not a smartphone with features stripped out — it was designed from the ground up for people who want to be reachable without being pulled in. Gorilla Glass front, tough enough for real pockets.
What to expect if you are replacing a BlackBerry Passport
The Passport is a historical reference, not an Android model. A secondary source lists its official release date as September 24, 2014, with a 4.5-inch square display, BlackBerry 10 and a physical keyboard that supported touchpad-style gestures. That source describes the design’s business-oriented rationale, but it does not establish present-day network compatibility, app availability or security. BlackBerry Passport historical source. The Titan 2 shares the broad idea of a square-screen phone with a physical keyboard, but that similarity does not establish that its keys, gesture behavior or typing experience match the Passport. The Titan Pocket’s smaller display and Android 11 are different trade-offs. Android also means a different software environment from BlackBerry 10; choose based on the apps and services you need, rather than the shape of the hardware alone.

Checks to make before you buy
- Confirm carrier support for your exact device variant. Check the phone’s supported bands and your provider’s current approval requirements in your country. A general “global” label or authorization claim for another region is not proof that your service will work.
- Verify software on the device being sold. Confirm the installed Android version and whether security updates are still provided. A stated upgrade to a particular version is not a long-term update guarantee.
- Check who is selling it and what support comes with the sale. Confirm whether the seller is the manufacturer, an authorized local retailer or a marketplace reseller; read the applicable warranty, return terms, import charges and repair arrangements.
- Assess typing and pocketability. Compare keyboard layout, gesture behavior, screen shape, weight and thickness against how you use a phone. If possible, try the device in person: the cited product information and review do not provide a direct Titan 2-versus-Passport typing test.
Who should choose each model?
- Choose the Titan 2 if you want the strongest evidenced combination here of an integrated QWERTY keyboard and a contemporary Android platform, and its exact variant works with your carrier.
- Consider the Titan Pocket cautiously if compactness matters more than having a newer manufacturer-listed Android version. Verify security support, bands and seller terms first.
- Watch for the Titan 2 Elite if its reviewed specifications interest you, but confirm current official sales and support details before treating it as available to buy.
