If you want a private screen for movies, gaming, or laptop work, XREAL One Pro and VITURE Beast are the practical alternatives to consider first: they connect to compatible video sources rather than relying on a dedicated spatial-computing puck. If you want standalone spatial apps, XREAL AURA and Meta VR Glasses are announced future products, not proven retail choices as of October 7, 2026.
How these glasses differ
The key distinction is whether the glasses act as a display for another device or as part of a spatial-computing system. USB-C display glasses take video from a compatible phone, laptop, or handheld. AURA and Meta VR Glasses are announced around a separate compute puck and their own spatial platforms.
There is also a difference in how you see the room. XREAL describes AURA as optical see-through, so the real world remains directly visible through the lenses. Meta describes camera passthrough, which shows camera imagery. Neither architecture alone establishes comfort, image quality, or suitability for every task.

XREAL One Pro: best fit for an existing USB-C video source
XREAL describes One Pro as a USB-C video-connected spatial display, not a standalone Android XR system like AURA. Its 2024 announcement lists 1080p per eye, a 57-degree field of view, and prescription inserts. Those specifications make it relevant if your priority is a large private display driven by hardware you already own. XREAL’s One Series announcement
#1 Best Overall
- YOUR PRIVATE 147” BIG SCREEN, ANYWHERE — Plug the a01+ into your phone, tablet, handheld, or laptop and a giant 147” screen appears in front of you—for movies, gaming, or getting work done on the couch, on a flight, or in bed. A true portable display you wear, in a soda-can-sized 210g case that drops in your pocket.
- ALWAYS RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU — The screen follows your view with smooth, stabilized tracking and stays centered as you look around—nothing to anchor or set up, and no drift to reset. Press play and your big screen is simply there.
- 62G — LIGHT ENOUGH TO FORGET — At just 62g, with three nose-pad sizes and flexible temples, the a01+ stays comfortable through a long movie or flight, even lying down.
- LOOKS LIKE SUNGLASSES, NOT A GADGET — A slim, sunglasses-style frame with a signature semi-transparent chassis and neon logo—light and low-profile enough to actually wear out.
- WORKS WITH YOUR USB-C GEAR — No Battery to Charge — Connects and powers over a single USB-C DisplayPort cable: iPhone 15/16/17, iPad, DP-capable Android phones, Steam Deck, ROG Ally, Mac and PC. Nintendo Switch/Switch 2 and older (Lightning) iPhones need an adapter. For long phone sessions, add the XREAL Hub to charge and watch at once.
Before choosing it, confirm that the exact phone, computer, or handheld outputs video over USB-C. Check whether your setup needs an adapter, whether the current model is available in your region, and whether prescription inserts suit your prescription.
VITURE Beast: a media-and-travel display option
VITURE lists Beast at $549 and advertises a 174-inch virtual screen and 1,250-nit peak brightness. Those are vendor-reported figures, not independent head-to-head measurements against AURA or Meta VR Glasses. Treat it as a display-glasses option for media, gaming, and travel, and verify current price, compatibility, and stock before buying. VITURE Beast product page

Choose by use case and practical constraints
For movies or gaming from a device you already own
Start with USB-C display glasses such as One Pro or Beast. Identify the exact source device and confirm video output over USB-C before shopping. A glasses-only display can be a simpler fit than buying into a separate spatial platform, but compatibility and any adapter requirements are setup-specific.
For spatial apps and anchored windows
Compare AURA and Meta only if you want more than a private flat screen. AURA lists 6DoF anchoring and hand tracking; Meta announces hand and eye interaction and a multi-screen workspace. Their respective app ecosystems, tracking quality, and long-session usability are not established by those feature lists alone.
For commuting, travel, or long sessions
Consider the whole system, not just the glasses. A separate puck and tether affect where the compute hardware can be carried, cable routing, and freedom of movement. Meta’s approximately 100-gram figure describes its glasses, not the total worn or carried system. A demo or published weight does not prove comfort over hours.

For prescription wearers
XREAL says AURA supports insertable prescription lenses, and XREAL’s One Series announcement also mentions prescription inserts. Confirm the exact insert option and compatibility for the model you plan to buy; the cited materials do not establish a specific insert product or its price.
What to verify before buying
- Source-device output: For host-connected glasses, verify video output over USB-C for your specific phone, laptop, or handheld, plus any adapter needed.
- Regional availability: Check current listings, supported regions, and final configurations. A launch window or announced price is not proof of retail availability.
- Real-world fit: Try the glasses if possible. Fit, edge clarity, perceived brightness, and comfort vary by wearer and cannot be settled by resolution or field-of-view numbers alone.
- Platform and apps: Distinguish a video display from spatial apps and multi-window work. Confirm the apps and services you need are available for your region and intended device.
- Runtime and carrying: For puck-based systems, assess battery life, puck placement, and cable management. Treat Meta’s playback figure as Meta’s announcement claim, not a general runtime guarantee.
