The most credible alternative in the available product specifications is the Mimaki UJF-3042MkII e, a dedicated UV flatbed with a 300 × 420 mm print area and support for objects up to 153 mm thick. It is aimed at a different kind of workflow, though: the xTool O1 Omni Dual UV is a compact, multi-material system, while Mimaki’s machine is a more production-oriented flatbed. There is no evidence here to declare either the better value; compare current delivered prices, service, inks, and operating costs before choosing.
What the xTool O1 Omni Dual UV is designed to do
The Dual UV is one of three O1 Omni editions described by xTool. It uses two UV printheads and is specified for rigid items such as acrylic, wood, metal, glass, and ceramic, plus selected flexible materials such as leather and canvas. The manual lists CMYKWV ink paths alongside rigid white, flexible white, fluorescent red, and fluorescent yellow. These are manufacturer specifications, not independently measured results. See the O1 Omni Printer FAQs and O1 Omni Printer User Manual.
Edition choice changes the workflow
- Single UV: specified for rigid materials.
- Dual UV: adds flexible-material and fluorescent-ink paths.
- UV & DT: combines UV printing with a fabric printhead and DTG/DTF workflows. xTool defines DTG as printing directly onto fabric; DTF prints onto transfer film, which is then transferred using adhesive powder and heat.
Do not assume that a feature or material listed for one edition is supported by another. Confirm the exact edition and bundle contents before purchase.
Bed size and stated performance
xTool lists a 330 × 420 mm standard baseplate and a 330 × 122 mm mini baseplate. The DT garment tray is 300 × 390 mm. The usable area therefore depends on the installed tray and the model; verify which trays come with the specific bundle. xTool also specifies 720 × 1440 dpi resolution, ±0.2 mm positioning accuracy, and embossed printing up to 7 mm. Treat those as vendor figures, not a direct comparison of finished quality or production speed.

The strongest documented alternative: Mimaki UJF-3042MkII e
Mimaki’s official specifications describe the UJF-3042MkII e as a UV flatbed with three on-demand piezo printheads, a maximum printable area of 300 × 420 mm, and maximum resolution of 1200 × 1200 dpi. It accepts media up to 153 mm thick and 5 kg. Listed ink families include rigid and flexible options, white, clear, and primer.
This is the more relevant candidate if your priority is a dedicated flatbed workflow and greater object-height capacity. Its maximum print area is close to the O1’s listed 330 × 420 mm standard bed, but Mimaki’s stated media thickness capacity is a major difference for taller objects. The specifications do not establish equivalent output quality or throughput: print mode, substrate, pass count, color configuration, and application all matter, so resolution alone is not a sound buying criterion.

Where the comparison remains incomplete
The specification pages do not provide a comparable total-cost picture. The Mimaki USA regional product page is a useful place to check local information, but a current delivered price is not established here. Before choosing, request quotes for the machine, inks, replacement and maintenance costs, shipping, warranty, and local service. Also compare machine footprint, setup and software requirements, expected batch size, and the cost of downtime. Without those figures, neither a best-value nor a lower-cost recommendation is justified.
Which option fits your business?
| Need | Better starting point | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Print rigid goods and selected flexible materials in a compact multi-material workflow | xTool O1 Omni Dual UV | Its listed dual-head ink paths include flexible white and fluorescent colors in addition to rigid printing. |
| Print on taller objects | Mimaki UJF-3042MkII e | Mimaki lists media thickness up to 153 mm; the O1’s stated embossed-print height is 7 mm. These figures describe different limits and should not be treated as identical measures. |
| Use a garment-focused DTG or DTF process | xTool O1 Omni UV & DT edition | This is the O1 edition xTool describes as combining UV printing with a fabric printhead and DTG/DTF workflows. The Dual UV edition is not the same setup. |

Maintenance and workflow details to check
xTool says automatic maintenance can run when the printer remains powered. For extended periods without printing, its guidance is to set the printhead or printheads to moisturizing mode through xTool software and leave the printer powered. Its FAQ also notes that temperature affects ink viscosity and jetting, with high temperature associated with blurred edges and low temperature with flow or clogging issues. Follow the current manual for operating ranges; no independently established idle-life or maintenance-cost figure is available.

The manual links guides for xTool’s OR1 rotary attachment, RF1 roll feeder, and LM1 laminator. These may be relevant to cylindrical items or roll-media workflows, but check compatibility with your edition and regional availability before treating them as part of the setup. xTool’s European product page is one regional reference, not confirmation of availability or delivery terms elsewhere.

Roland VersaOBJECT systems and the eufyMake E1 may come up when comparing compact UV printers, but the available product detail is not sufficient here for a precise head-to-head recommendation. Verify current official specifications for the particular model you are considering—especially media size and thickness, ink configuration, workflow software, service, and operating costs—rather than assuming family-level features apply to every machine.

A practical buying checklist
- Write down the materials and object dimensions you actually expect to print, including maximum height and weight.
- Choose the process you need: rigid UV, flexible UV, DTG, or DTF. Confirm the process against the exact O1 edition or alternative model.
- Ask vendors for delivered machine quotes and itemized costs for ink, maintenance, replacement parts, shipping, and service.
- Confirm what is included in the bundle: baseplates, trays, software, installation, and any accessories you need.
- Ask how setup, calibration, routine maintenance, warranty coverage, and local repairs work, and how they could affect the size of batches you can run.
- Request a sample or demonstration using a representative material and design when possible; published dpi figures alone cannot predict your finished result.
