If you want a titanium dress watch but do not need every feature of the Casio Oceanus Manta, the strongest alternatives in this comparison serve different priorities: the Seiko Astron SSH153J1 for GPS time adjustment and world time, or the Citizen Eco-Drive One AR5030-59L for an exceptionally thin, understated profile. Neither is a feature-for-feature replacement for the Manta.
How the alternatives differ from the Oceanus Manta
The Manta combines a titanium bracelet and slim case with solar charging, Bluetooth smartphone linking, and Multi-Band 6 radio time reception. The Seiko takes a travel-focused GPS approach, while the Citizen prioritizes thinness and dress-watch simplicity. Choose by the feature you value most rather than treating these watches as interchangeable.

Seiko Astron SSH153J1: choose GPS and world time
The Astron SSH153J1 is the clearest alternative if your priority is adjusting time while traveling. Seiko lists GPS solar timekeeping and world time for 38 cities, along with a titanium construction, ceramic/titanium bezel, and dual-curved sapphire crystal. That gives it a distinct travel focus rather than the Manta’s documented combination of Bluetooth linking and Multi-Band 6 radio reception.
#1 Best Overall
- Case Size: 40.00 mm, Band Width: 21 mm, Case Thickness: 8.52 mm
- Swiss quartz movement, Titanium case, Index dial type, Date
- Titanium 21 mm strap/bracelet, butterfly clasp with push-buttons closure
- Water-resistant up to a pressure of 10 bar (100 m / 330 ft): suitable for short periods of recreational swimming and showering, but no diving or snorkeling.
Choose it if GPS-based time adjustment and city-time functionality matter more to you than matching the Manta’s synchronization approach or its documented slim profile. The cited Seiko page does not establish a case thickness, so there is no supported basis here for calling it as thin as the 8.7 mm Manta.
Citizen Eco-Drive One AR5030-59L: choose minimum thickness
The Citizen Eco-Drive One AR5030-59L is the dress-oriented pick if a barely-there case is the deciding factor. Citizen lists a 36.5 mm case width and a remarkably slim 3.53 mm thickness, with titanium construction, sapphire crystal, and Eco-Drive light-powered operation. Citizen describes its Super Titanium as combining strength and lightness with a beautiful appearance.

- Case Size: 40.00 mm, Band Width: 21 mm, Case Thickness: 8.52 mm
- Swiss quartz movement, Titanium case, Index dial type, Date
- 23 mm strap/bracelet, butterfly clasp with push-buttons closure
- Water-resistant up to a pressure of 10 bar (100 m / 330 ft): suitable for short periods of recreational swimming and showering, but no diving or snorkeling.
The listed page does not establish world-time functionality, Bluetooth connectivity, or radio time reception for this reference. Treat it as an alternative for a slim titanium dress-watch profile, not as a substitute for the Manta’s documented travel and synchronization features.
Casio Oceanus Manta OCW-S6000: the benchmark to beat
The OCW-S6000 is useful as a reference point because its official US specifications document an 8.7 mm case, titanium band with titanium carbide treatment, double-sided non-reflective sapphire crystal, Bluetooth smartphone link, Multi-Band 6 radio reception, Tough Solar, and 10 bar water resistance. Its bracelet also has a slide-adjust clasp for fine adjustment without a tool.

- Featuring our Eco-Drive technology – powered by light, any light. Never needs a battery
- Eco-Drive Movement (Caliber J810) - 3 Hand, Date
- Silver-Tone Super Titanium 42mm Case with a Sapphire Crystal, One of the Hardest Materials in the World
- Silver-Tone Super Titanium Bracelet Featuring Fold Over Clasp with Push Buttons
- 100M Water Resistant & 5 Year Warranty
If that particular blend of a slim titanium bracelet watch, solar charging, phone linking, and radio time reception is what drew you to the Manta, neither alternative is shown by its cited specifications to reproduce the whole package. The Astron changes the travel-time approach; the Citizen pares the proposition back toward thinness and dress-watch simplicity.
Which one should you choose?
- Pick the Seiko Astron SSH153J1 if GPS solar time adjustment and world time for 38 cities are your leading requirements.
- Pick the Citizen Eco-Drive One AR5030-59L if a 3.53 mm titanium dress-watch case is more important than documented travel connectivity.
- Stay with the Casio Oceanus Manta OCW-S6000 if you specifically want its documented titanium bracelet, 8.7 mm case, Bluetooth link, and Multi-Band 6 radio reception in one solar watch.
