No specific aircraft is confirmed to unlock skins faster in ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE. Campaign aircraft progression uses MRP, while ACE COMBAT ONLINE has separate progression and rewards skins through Ace Pass tracks. Choose an aircraft that fits the mission and that you can fly consistently; first decide whether you want campaign MRP or online Ace Pass XP.
Which aircraft should you use to unlock skins?
There is no published aircraft-by-aircraft comparison of skin unlock speed, XP per sortie, or the best repeat mission. The available official information does not identify a fastest plane. Instead, choose by the progression track you want and the job the sortie requires: Bandai Namco advises considering mission objectives and playstyle when selecting an aircraft. Bandai Namco’s walkthrough explains campaign aircraft and MRP, while its ACE COMBAT Online page describes online levels and customization.

- For campaign progression: choose an aircraft suited to the mission objective and earn MRP toward Aircraft Tree unlocks.
- For online cosmetics: play ACE COMBAT ONLINE missions to earn ACE PASS XP and progress through the active Ace Pass.
Fighter, attacker, multirole, or electronic warfare roles may suit different objectives, but the available sources do not rank those types by skin-unlock efficiency.

Campaign: earn MRP for aircraft, not a confirmed skin shortcut
In Campaign Mode, missions award MRP, which you spend to unlock additional jets in the Aircraft Tree. Aircraft can also be upgraded with parts that can be combined freely. This is a campaign aircraft-and-upgrade economy; the official explanation does not say that using or leveling a particular campaign aircraft unlocks skins faster. Bandai Namco’s campaign walkthrough

Improve campaign MRP progress without assuming one plane is best
A launch-period PowerPyx trophy guide reports MRP for destroyed targets and difficulty multipliers ranging from x0.8 on Casual to x1.5 on Ace. Those are the guide’s observations, not official publisher specifications. A higher multiplier may help if you can still clear the mission and destroy targets reliably; the highest difficulty is not automatically the fastest choice if it leads to failed or incomplete sorties.
The same guide reports 25,000,000 MRP for its full Aircraft Tree trophy objective. That is a guide figure for that trophy objective, not a skin-unlock requirement. Its estimate of 150 hours or more is for platinum completion, not for unlocking skins.

Online: progress through ACE PASS XP for skins
ACE COMBAT ONLINE has progression and save data separate from Campaign Mode. Aircraft must be earned in online mode, and online missions award ACE PASS XP. Campaign aircraft do not automatically carry over as online progression. Bandai Namco Europe’s multiplayer FAQ
Bandai Namco’s Season One announcement listed 12 aircraft skins on the Free Ace Pass and 13 additional aircraft skins on the Premium track. These counts describe that announced season’s rewards, not a permanent total or a guarantee about a later season’s contents. Check the active pass for current rewards. The official online page says, “Each Ace Pass season will last two months.” That cadence is stated by Bandai Namco; individual season rewards remain season-specific. ACE COMBAT Online
Aircraft levels are not established as skin unlocks
Bandai Namco says aircraft gain levels by surviving sorties, improving stats and unlocking abilities. It separately describes customizing skins, emblems, and weathering, but does not state that aircraft levels unlock skins. Keep pass aircraft and skins distinct
Bandai Namco’s Season One announcement also lists the ADFX-02 Morgan-PIXY as a playable aircraft reward on the Premium track. That is an aircraft reward, not a skin, and acquiring it should not be confused with unlocking cosmetics.

Bandai Namco says the Deluxe cosmetic set includes F-4E “MOBIUS SQUADRON” and F/A-18C “TEAM ZVEZDA” skins. The publisher says they can be used online and become available for campaign use after campaign completion.
