Berkshire Hathaway-related entities reported buying Lennar shares through September 30, 2026. In the latest disclosed window, September 28–30, they bought 656,302 Class A shares and 4,108 Class B shares—fewer of each class than in the September 23–25 window reported in the preceding filing. After the latest transactions, the reporting persons held 26,034,436 Class A shares and 553,000 Class B shares. The comparison shows a smaller later reporting window, not a proven day-by-day slowdown or a signal about future trades.
How many Lennar shares did Berkshire buy?
Berkshire-related entities reported these transactions in SEC Forms 4. The September 30 filing lists purchases on September 28, 29 and 30. Summing its transaction lines gives 656,302 Class A shares and 4,108 Class B shares. These are shares purchased during the listed dates, not the total position Berkshire held afterward.

On this like-for-like comparison of the two reported windows, the later filing listed fewer purchases in both share classes. It does not establish that buying slowed on every intervening trading day: these filings report transactions for particular dates, and the two windows do not cover every day between them.

After the transactions in its latest Form 4, the reporting persons reported holdings of 26,034,436 Lennar Class A shares and 553,000 Class B shares. Those figures are ending holdings, not purchases made in the September 28–30 window.

The SEC filing identifies Berkshire Hathaway and Warren E. Buffett as reporting persons. It says the shares are held through Berkshire subsidiaries, including AZGUARD Insurance Company, BHG Life Insurance Company, Medical Protective Company, National Indemnity Company, NorGUARD Insurance Company and WestGUARD Insurance Company. Berkshire may be deemed to beneficially own and have a pecuniary interest in shares held within its ownership chain. Buffett may be deemed to beneficially own shares only to the extent of his pecuniary interest, and he disclaims beneficial ownership beyond that extent. The reported total therefore should not be described as Buffett’s personal stockholding.
A Schedule 13G record dated August 14, 2026 also identifies Berkshire as a filer and Lennar as the subject. That filing provides ownership background; the later Forms 4 are the relevant records for the September transactions.

- September 28: 5,200 shares at a reported weighted-average price of $81.96.
- September 29: 12,289 shares at $81.95.
- September 30: 638,813 shares at $81.59.
Class B purchases, September 29–30
- September 29: 100 shares at $80.
- September 30: 4,008 shares at a reported weighted-average price of $79.98.

Why the filing dates need careful reading
The SEC accepted the September 30 filing at 19:52:20 UTC on September 30. Its filing-detail record gives a period of report ending September 28, even though the ownership document itself lists transactions on September 29 and 30. For the transaction dates, quantities and resulting position, consult the ownership document rather than treating the filing-detail report-period field as a complete summary of its transaction dates. The SEC filing detail contains the acceptance time and report-period metadata.
