The BenQ PD2732U is a 27-inch 4K monitor aimed at creative work where broad SDR color coverage and useful Mac connectivity matter more than HDR brightness or high refresh. In Cult of Mac’s September 27, 2026 review, Rajesh Pandey found its image pleasing in use, but did not use a colorimeter to verify BenQ’s coverage or calibration claims. Its clearest drawbacks are 60Hz operation, limited HDR headroom, and less-polished controls and software.
What the BenQ PD2732U is designed to do
The PD2732U combines a 3840 × 2160 resolution with a 27-inch IPS panel, which the review lists at 163 pixels per inch. Its emphasis is a detailed, color-rich workspace for photo, design, and other SDR creative tasks—not a high-refresh gaming display or a monitor built for demanding HDR grading.
Pandey preferred the available screen space and scaling of this 4K panel to the sharper 5K-at-2× presentation he describes. That is a workflow preference, not a measured performance advantage; the right choice depends on how much workspace and interface scaling you want.

BenQ’s figures, as reported by Cult of Mac, are 100% sRGB, 100% Rec.709, 99% Adobe RGB, and 99% P3 coverage, with average Delta E of 2 or lower. The review also says the panel is factory calibrated and includes a calibration report, and that it is Calman Verified and Pantone Validated. These are manufacturer-related claims in the review, not independent lab results.
#1 Best Overall
- ACCURATE & CONSISTENT COLORS: Factory-calibrated with 99% Adobe RGB/Display P3, 100% sRGB/Rec.709, Delta E ≤ 2, AQCOLOR Pilot software, Nano Matte Black Panel, Calman Verified and Pantone Validated.
- UNIFORMITY CALIBRATION: Uneven color and brightness can affect visual judgment. BenQ's full-panel calibration ensures consistency across the display, helping you proof accurately and reduce rework.
- Mac-READY WORKSTATION: M-book mode matches Mac colors, iKeyboard Control syncs brightness & volume with Mac keyboard and iDevice Color Sync previews how content appears across your Apple devices.
- THUNDERBOLT 4 & FLEXIBLE CONNECTIVITY: Up to 90W charging, 40Gbps transfers and daisy chain support for dual 4K displays via Thunderbolt 4. Built-in KVM streamlines workflows.
- ERGONOMIC DESIGN & CREATOR-READY FEATURES: Wireless Hotkey Puck, Display Pilot 2, plus pivot, swivel, tilt, and height adjustment for personalized comfort and productivity.
Pandey explicitly notes: “I do not have a colorimeter, so I cannot independently verify BenQ’s gamut or calibration claims.” His visual impressions were positive: he reported good-looking color and uniformity and did not notice major IPS glow. For color-critical delivery, treat those observations as useful but subjective, and verify the display with your own measurement workflow if accuracy must be documented.
For Mac owners, the monitor’s M-book mode is intended to match a MacBook display. Pandey noticed a slight color-temperature difference, so do not assume the mode makes the two screens visually identical.

Is it suitable for HDR work?
The review reports HDR10 and HLG compatibility and a rated brightness of 400 nits. Those specifications may be adequate for basic HDR playback or previewing, but they do not make the PD2732U a strong choice for demanding HDR grading: the review’s assessment is that its brightness limits HDR work. Its color credentials are a more compelling reason to consider it for SDR creative workflows.

Ports, charging, and multi-computer use
The review lists one Thunderbolt 4 input with up to 90W power delivery and a second Thunderbolt port with up to 15W output. It also reports HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.4, USB-C upstream data, one USB-C accessory port, three USB-A accessory ports, and a headphone jack. The USB accessory connections are specified at up to 5Gbps.

Pandey used Thunderbolt daisy-chaining and says it worked in his setup. Smart KVM lets a keyboard and mouse be shared between two connected computers. Together, charging, accessory connections, and KVM can help make the monitor a central desk connection point; exact behavior will depend on the connected computers and how they are wired.
Refresh rate and physical controls
60Hz is the main motion tradeoff
The PD2732U runs at 60Hz. That is a conventional refresh rate for a creative 4K monitor, but it is a compromise if you want especially smooth motion for fast-paced games or other high-frame-rate work.
Rank #4
- Low blue light: The improved ComfortView Plus reduces harmful blue light emissions to ≤35%, for all-day comfort without sacrificing color accuracy.
- Refresh rate: A smooth, tear-free experience with AMD FreeSync Premium (refresh rate up to 120Hz) and an ultra-low 0.03ms response time create a captivating experience for work and play.
- Vivid colors: Immerse yourself in breathtaking 4K visuals with in-plane switching technology. Enjoy vibrant colors with 99% sRGB. The 1500:1 contrast ratio and HDR readiness deliver excellent depth and detail.
- Re-engineered sound quality: Enjoy more detailed sound with spacious audio featuring greater output power, deeper frequency response and more decibel range than the previous generation.
- Easy connectivity: Keep your desk organized and clutter-free with a single USB-C cable (up to 65W power delivery).
Stand, mounting, and Hotkey Puck
The review describes a stand with height, tilt, and swivel adjustment, plus portrait rotation. The monitor accepts a 100 × 100mm VESA mount. Its shell is mostly plastic, while the stand base is metal.

Display Pilot 2 and everyday Mac controls
BenQ’s Display Pilot 2 software provides input switching and other monitor settings. On Mac, it also adds keyboard controls for screen brightness. Pandey found the application useful but in need of more polish. If you prefer to adjust the monitor through a keyboard shortcut or an app rather than its on-screen controls, that feature may be convenient; the review does not present the software as a friction-free part of the experience.
Price, availability, and warranty
Cult of Mac reported a US price of $699.99, availability through Amazon, B&H, BenQ, and authorized retailers, and a standard three-year warranty in its September 27, 2026 review. These are dated, region-sensitive details, not a current price or confirmation of stock or warranty terms where you live. Check the seller and BenQ’s terms for your market before buying. The review also disclosed that BenQ supplied the review unit and that the page contained affiliate links.
Who should consider the PD2732U
- A good fit: Mac and PC creators who want a 27-inch 4K SDR workspace, broad stated color coverage, and Thunderbolt charging and desk connectivity.
- Think twice: Buyers whose work depends on demanding HDR grading, or who want a high-refresh display for smooth gaming.
- Verify first: Professionals who need measured color accuracy, and buyers comparing current pricing, stock, or regional warranty coverage.
Overall, the PD2732U’s case rests on its combination of stated color breadth, 4K workspace, and connectivity. The review’s visual impressions support its appeal, but they do not replace instrument measurements; its 60Hz refresh, 400-nit rated brightness, and control-software rough edges define the compromises.
