The BenQ MOBIUZ EX271Q is a 27-inch, 1440p IPS gaming monitor with a 180 Hz maximum refresh rate over DisplayPort, USB-C with up to 65 W power delivery, and a stand with full ergonomic adjustment. It is a strong spec fit for PC gaming and compatible consoles, but its HDR and motion performance should not be judged from the listed specifications alone: the available BenQ materials do not establish independent test results for input lag, motion clarity, or HDR image quality.

What the BenQ EX271Q offers

The EX271Q pairs a 2560 × 1440 WQHD resolution with a 16:9, 27-inch IPS panel. BenQ lists 108 pixels per inch (PPI), which gives games and desktop text more detail than 1080p at the same screen size while remaining less demanding to render than 4K.

Its listed response time is 1 ms GtG. That is a manufacturer specification, not an independent measurement of total input lag or the monitor’s real-world motion clarity. Likewise, the 180 Hz maximum applies over DisplayPort; HDMI tops out at 144 Hz.

Refresh rate, HDR, and adaptive sync

Feature EX271Q specification What it means
Refresh rate Up to 180 Hz via DisplayPort; up to 144 Hz via HDMI To use 180 Hz, connect through DisplayPort and confirm that the graphics device and chosen resolution support that mode.
Adaptive sync AMD FreeSync Premium Designed to reduce tearing and stutter when the frame rate varies, subject to compatible hardware and settings.
HDR formats and certification HDR10 and VESA DisplayHDR 400 The monitor accepts HDR content and carries a DisplayHDR 400 designation; the designation alone does not establish how impactful HDR looks in games.
Brightness 350 nits typical; 400 nits HDR peak BenQ lists 350 nits as typical brightness in its 2025 materials and 400 nits as HDR peak on the product specification page.

For a PC gamer, the combination of 1440p and 180 Hz is the clearest reason to consider this model. The actual refresh rate available also depends on the computer, connection, resolution, and display settings. The official figures do not substitute for independent testing of response behavior, input lag, or HDR image quality.

Ports and USB-C charging

The EX271Q has two HDMI 2.0 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4, and one USB-C port with DisplayPort Alt Mode and 65 W Power Delivery. It also includes a USB-C upstream port, two USB-A downstream ports, and a headphone jack.

USB-C can carry a video signal and provide up to 65 W to a connected device, so it may simplify a laptop setup to a single cable. The charging benefit depends on the laptop’s power needs; 65 W may not be enough to charge some high-performance laptops at full speed. BenQ lists a KVM feature, which can help switch connected peripherals between computers, but the exact setup depends on how the devices are connected.

Gaming and eye-comfort features

BenQ lists Color Vibrance and Light Tuner for adjusting the appearance of game visuals, alongside Motion Blur Reduction. These options may be useful to tune the image, but the source specifications do not quantify their effect on motion clarity or image quality.

The EX271Q also includes Brightness Intelligence Plus Gen2, flicker-free operation, and hardware low-blue-light technology. BenQ describes Brightness Intelligence Plus as automatically adjusting brightness and colour temperature. These are manufacturer-described comfort features, not a guarantee of reduced eye strain for every user.

Who should consider the EX271Q?

  • Consider it if: you want 27-inch 1440p gaming, up to 180 Hz over DisplayPort, USB-C video with 65 W charging, KVM, and an adjustable stand.
  • Check alternatives if: you need a stronger HDR experience, a refresh rate above 144 Hz specifically over HDMI, or independently verified motion and input-lag performance. The official specifications do not answer those performance questions.
  • Check your setup first: confirm your PC or console supports the output mode you want and that you have the appropriate cable and port available.
