As of the 2026 season, Ben Sinnott and Zach Ertz are not Commanders teammates: NFL.com lists Sinnott on Washington’s roster and Ertz with Philadelphia. For a current fantasy lineup decision, the available evidence does not support a reliable start/sit pick between them. Looking back at Washington’s 2025 season, Ertz had the established role and recorded 50 catches, 504 yards and four touchdowns in 13 games.
Are Sinnott and Ertz both Commanders in 2026?
No. NFL.com’s 2026 roster lists Sinnott as an active Washington tight end, while its statistics page lists Ertz with Philadelphia. The premise that they are competing for the same Commanders role is therefore out of date. NFL.com’s Washington roster identifies Sinnott as number 82, a 6-foot-4, 245-pound tight end from Kansas State entering his third season. NFL.com’s Ertz statistics page shows his 2026 team as Philadelphia.
What is Sinnott’s place in Washington’s current tight-end order?
Ourlads’ depth chart, updated September 9, 2026, lists Chig Okonkwo first, John Bates second, Ben Sinnott third, and Colson Yankoff fourth among Washington tight ends. That is a role signal, not a measure of actual snaps, routes, or targets. It does not by itself show how often Sinnott will be used or establish his fantasy value. Washington’s September 2, 2025 Week 1 depth chart listed Ertz ahead of Sinnott at tight end, consistent with Ertz having the clearer role at that point in the season. The figures are Ertz’s full 2025 totals; the 13-game context matters when comparing them with a full-season line.

How does that compare with Ertz’s 2024 Washington season?
In 2024, Ertz played all 17 games for Washington and recorded 66 receptions, 654 receiving yards, and seven receiving touchdowns, per NFL.com. That historical production helps explain why he was a relevant fantasy option in Washington, but it should not be treated as a projection for his 2026 Philadelphia role.
Should you start Sinnott or Ertz in fantasy now?
The available figures do not settle a current 2026 start/sit decision. They do not provide comparable current targets, routes, snap shares, availability, recent weekly production, or scoring-format-specific projections for both players. Before choosing between them for a specific week, check the current team and injury reports, then compare recent routes and targets, snap share, red-zone involvement, opponent, and your league’s scoring settings. Without those week-specific details, neither historical totals nor a depth-chart position is enough to justify a categorical recommendation.
Is Sinnott worth drafting?
The available evidence does not establish a dependable 2026 fantasy role for Sinnott.
