Bell confirmed that Bell Fibe TV customers can watch live programming in 4K on Apple TV, but reports of a new “Ultimate (up to 4K)” quality setting do not establish that every subscriber or Apple TV account has access. Bell’s general app page still says viewing is available up to HD, so the public information leaves an unresolved gap between that broad description and Bell’s later live-4K statement.
Why do some Apple TV users see “Ultimate (up to 4K)”?
Some users reported seeing the “Ultimate (up to 4K)” option in the Bell Fibe TV app’s quality settings. In a January 16, 2026 update, MobileSyrup reported a statement from an unnamed Bell spokesperson confirming that Bell Fibe TV customers could watch live programming in 4K on Apple TV: “Bell Fibe TV customers can now enjoy live programming in 4K on Apple TV, with 4K Video on Demand coming later this year.” MobileSyrup’s report also notes that the setting was not visible to every user it covered, including the reporter. It did not establish whether the difference resulted from a staged rollout, account eligibility, or another cause.
Does the Bell Fibe TV app support 4K on Apple TV?
Bell’s spokesperson confirmed live 4K programming on Apple TV for Bell Fibe TV customers. However, Bell’s general Fibe TV app page continues to describe app viewing as available up to HD. The page also lists Apple TV 4K as a compatible device and says live viewing on Apple TV requires being at home with a Bell Internet connection. The available public information does not explain how the general HD description relates to the later live-4K statement.

Do you need a Bell Fibe TV subscription?
Bell’s quoted statement names Bell Fibe TV customers. It does not confirm that customers using app-only access, or any other Bell account type, qualify for live 4K. If you have the app but do not have a Bell Fibe TV subscription, the sources do not establish whether you are eligible for this feature.
Which Apple TV models work?
Bell lists Apple TV 4K among compatible devices, but the available information does not identify supported generations or confirm that every Apple TV 4K model receives the new live-4K option. A compatible device listing is not a guarantee that a particular account has feature access. Bell also says Apple TV live viewing requires you to be at home with Bell Internet.

Is 4K On Demand available on Apple TV?
The Bell spokesperson’s statement said 4K Video on Demand was coming later in 2026. The sources available here do not verify whether that rollout happened. The live-4K confirmation should not be read as proof that Apple TV On Demand titles are already available in 4K.

Bell separately documents 4K On Demand requirements for its Bell Streamer: a compatible 4K television, a sustained connection of at least 20 Mbps, a high-speed HDMI cable, and Ultimate quality. Those instructions apply to the Bell Streamer scenario described in Bell’s support article; they do not establish Apple TV requirements.
