The Beko BCT603IG is a 60 cm built-in induction cooktop with four induction zones, one IndyFlex flexible area, Direct Access Premium touch controls and 15 power levels. This is a specification-led review. It is based on Beko’s published product pages and specification documents, a Beko-hosted customer rating, and a Consumer NZ cooktop index page. It does not include hands-on cooking tests, and no independent measured results for this exact model were found.

What the Beko BCT603IG is

Beko describes the BCT603IG as a built-in induction hob with four cooking zones and a paired area it calls IndyFlex. Each zone has its own touch control on the Direct Access Premium panel, which Beko describes as illuminated. The control range is 15 power levels. Because the body is listed at 58 cm wide but the product is categorised as 60 cm, check the installation cut-out rather than the marketing width before buying.

Published specifications

The figures below come from Beko’s Australian product page and its 2021 Australia/New Zealand specification sheet. Beko notes that specifications may change, so confirm them against the current label and manual for the unit you are buying.

IndyFlex

Beko’s New Zealand page describes IndyFlex as a way to combine two zones into a larger area for a bigger pan. That is the only source-level description found, so the exact zone pairing and how the cooktop switches between one and two zones are best confirmed in the manual.

Features Beko lists

  • Timer
  • Booster setting on zones
  • Stop & Go
  • Key lock
  • Residual-heat indicator
  • Anti-overflow system
  • Automatic shut-off
  • Automatic functions Fry, Simmer and Keep Warm (per the New Zealand page)

These are manufacturer feature descriptions. They tell you what the hob is designed to offer, not how well each function performs.

  • Induction stoves rely on cookware to heat, so it’s essential to choose magnetic bottom cookware with a minimum diameter of 5 inches. Auto-pan detection will shut off automatically after 60 seconds if no cookware, or the incorrect cookware is detected
  • Although induction itself is a noiseless process, there may be high pitched sounds from the cookware due to multiple layers of metals sandwiched together. Please allow the induction cooker to cool down before cleaning

Electrical supply and installation checks

Because the total rating is 7.2 kW, the electrical supply needs to be checked before purchase. Work through these steps with a licensed electrician if anything is unclear:

  1. Measure the worktop opening and confirm it matches 560 × 490 mm.
  2. Check the ventilation and clearance requirements in the installation instructions for your kitchen layout.
  3. Confirm your supply is 220–240 V single-phase (1N) or 380–415 V three-phase (2N), at 50 Hz.
  4. Compare your circuit’s protection rating with the current product rating and your local wiring rules. The 2021 sheet’s 16 A × 2 figure should be treated as a reference point, not a final installation requirement.

Installation wiring should not be planned from the summary figures alone.

Cookware

The manual states that the hob requires induction-suitable cookware. Before buying, test pans with a magnet: if it sticks firmly to the base, it is usually suitable. Beko’s wording and the manual’s exact requirements should be read directly. No specific pans were reviewed for this model.

Who should assess the BCT603IG

This model is worth a closer look if you need a 60 cm induction hob with four zones, a flexible area for larger cookware, and listed 7.2 kW total power, and if your kitchen and electrical supply match the cut-out and supply requirements above. If your main need is proven cooking performance, the published sources do not provide it; look for independent test results and compare them with other models using the same measures: cut-out, electrical rating, zone sizes and ratings, flexible-zone behaviour, controls, timer and safety features, warranty, and tested performance.
