The Beats 360 are designed to handle workouts and everyday listening: they have a manufacturer-rated IPX4 resistance to sweat and water, active noise cancellation, and removable earcup and headband cushions that can be changed for a different look. Their strongest appeal is that mix of exercise-friendly design and over-ear features; whether they are worth buying depends on fit, price, and how much you value customization.
What makes the Beats 360 customizable?
The customization is physical, not electronic. Beats says the earcup and headband cushions detach and can be replaced, and that separate Cushion Kits come in multiple colors and materials. That lets you change the headphones’ appearance or replace worn cushions; it does not establish that you can adjust the fit or sound by swapping them.
Extra cushions are separate kits, so factor their availability and cost into the appeal if you expect to change colors or keep a spare set. Check that a kit is specifically compatible with Beats 360 before buying.

Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteAre the Beats 360 good for running?
Beats lists an IPX4 rating for sweat and water resistance. IPX4 means resistance to splashing water under the rating’s test conditions; it is not a claim that the headphones are waterproof or suitable for immersion. The rating makes the 360 more plausibly workout-ready than headphones with no stated resistance rating, but it does not establish how they will hold up to every workout or exposure.

Tom’s Guide’s September 22, 2026 review coverage includes a running-focused hands-on perspective. Its experience is that reviewer’s, not a guarantee that the headphones will stay comfortable or secure for every runner. Over-ear fit is personal, so try them during movement if you can, and follow Beats’ care guidance after sweaty use.
What do the buttons and listening modes do?
The controls are physical and divided between the earcups. The right earcup has the volume rocker and play/pause button; the left has power and a listening-mode button. Apple’s support instructions describe switching among Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), Transparency, and Off.

Off mode is not enabled by default, according to Apple. To make it selectable, enable it in the Beats settings on an Apple device or in the Beats app on Android. The exact menu wording can vary by device and software version; consult Apple’s current instructions at Apple Support for the relevant setup steps.

Beats lists ANC, Transparency mode, Adaptive EQ, and Personalized Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking. These are manufacturer-listed features; their presence does not, by itself, establish how effective they will sound or perform for a particular listener.

- INCREDIBLE SOUND: Custom acoustic platform delivers rich, balanced audio for music, calls and everyday listening.
- LOSSLESS AUDIO SUPPORT: USB-C lossless audio and sound profiles optimize music quality across devices and environments. Additional option to use the 3.5 mm cable for a standard analog experience.
- ACTIVE NOISE CANCELLING (ANC): block distractions at work, on flights or during your daily commute. Or use Transparency mode to let the sounds of your environment mix in with your music.
- SEAMLESS WIRELESS CONNECTIVITY: One-touch pairing with Apple & Android for easy switching across devices.
- SPATIAL AUDIO IMMERSION: Personalized dynamic head tracking, 360-degree sound for movies, music and immersive everyday listening.
Beats specifies up to 32 hours of listening time with ANC and Personalized Spatial Audio enabled. This is the manufacturer’s 2026 battery-life figure, not an independent test result. Actual battery life can vary with settings and use. The headphones charge over USB-C.
What are the main tradeoffs?
- No wear detection: Tom’s Guide flags the absence of wear detection, so playback convenience may be less automatic than on headphones that pause when removed.
- Price: recent review coverage reports a launch price of $349.99. That is a reported launch figure, not confirmation of today’s price or availability; check the current listing in your market before deciding.
- Sound priorities: SoundGuys characterizes the headphones as not aimed at audiophiles. Treat that as the publication’s assessment, not an objective measurement or a substitute for your own listening.
- Review judgments are not specifications: Comfort, sound, and noise cancellation depend on the wearer and conditions. Read reviewer impressions as attributed experiences rather than universal results.
Who should consider the Beats 360?
They are worth considering if you want one over-ear pair for daily listening and workouts, value the ability to replace or change the cushions, and find their current price acceptable. They are a less obvious fit if wear detection is essential, you need waterproof protection rather than an IPX4 resistance rating, or you prioritize audiophile-oriented sound above customization and workout versatility.
