Beats 360 is an over-ear headphone for listeners who want one wireless pair for everyday use, work and workouts, with interchangeable ear and headband cushions for a change of material or color. Beats rates it IPX4 for sweat and water resistance, and advertises up to 32 hours of battery life with ANC on. AppleInsider reviewer Malcolm Owen reported clear, balanced sound, comfortable long sessions and a secure exercise fit. The main compromise is straightforward: the USB-C port charges the headphones but does not carry audio, and the review reports no wired-audio connection.

Who is Beats 360 best for?

Beats 360 is best suited to someone who wants a single wireless over-ear headphone for music, calls, work and exercise, and values the option to replace or change the cushions. The customization is more than a color choice: Beats offers interchangeable earcup and headband cushions in Performance Knit and UltraPlush, while the IPX4 rating makes sweat and light rain a stated use case.

In AppleInsider’s September 22, 2026 review, Malcolm Owen describes the sound as balanced, clear and clean across music and TV. He found the headphones comfortable through multi-hour work sessions, reported effective noise cancellation in his office, and said they stayed secure during workouts. He also found calls understandable. Those are one reviewer’s usage impressions, not independent measurements or a guarantee that every listener will have the same experience.

Beats says the headphones work with Apple and Android devices. Owen reports that iOS users get one-touch and iCloud pairing, automatic switching, Find My, Audio Sharing and hands-free Siri; Android setup and device-finding features are available through the Beats app. For feature availability on a particular device or OS version, check Beats’ current product documentation.

Is Beats 360 good for working out?

Beats rates Beats 360 IPX4 for sweat and water resistance and positions it for gym use. The rating is relevant for sweat and splashes, not submersion: Beats 360 is not a swimming headphone. Owen reported a secure fit during exercise, but that fit assessment comes from his review rather than a standardized stability test.

Beats describes this as its first over-ear headphone with sweat and water resistance. For anyone choosing workout headphones, that stated protection is a more concrete reason to consider Beats 360 than the reviewer’s fit impression alone. Follow the manufacturer’s care guidance after exposure to sweat or moisture.

How do the interchangeable cushions work?

Each Beats 360 Cushion Kit includes cushions for both earcups and the headband. The included set is color-matched Performance Knit; Beats also lists additional kits in Performance Knit and UltraPlush. The ear cushions twist off and on, while the headband cushion attaches at its mounting points. Beats says the process requires no tools.

That makes the kits useful for two purposes: refreshing cushions as they wear and changing the headphone’s look or feel. Whether an extra kit is worthwhile depends on how much you value that refresh or customization; current accessory prices were not established here. See Beats’ Cushion Kit information for current options.

What are the battery and charging claims?

Beats advertises up to 32 hours of playback with ANC on. Its Fast Fuel claim is up to one hour of playback after a five-minute charge. These are manufacturer-rated figures, not results independently measured by the AppleInsider review; actual runtime can vary with settings and use.

What is the main limitation?

Beats 360 is wireless-only for audio according to Owen’s review. Its USB-C port is for charging and does not carry USB audio, and the review reports no 3.5 mm connection. If you need a physical connection or wired lossless playback, this is a meaningful drawback—not a limitation that a USB-C audio cable can solve.

How does Beats 360 compare with Beats Studio Pro?

The useful distinction is not a universal winner but which feature matters to you. Beats’ comparison page lists Studio Pro as supporting lossless audio over USB-C or 3.5 mm, while Beats 360 does not have cable-based audio according to the review. Beats lists IPX4 resistance and interchangeable ear and headband cushions for Beats 360; it does not list an IPX4 rating for Studio Pro, and describes Studio Pro’s cushions as UltraPlush.

Feature Beats 360 Beats Studio Pro
Wired audio No cable-based audio, according to AppleInsider’s review. Beats lists lossless audio over USB-C or 3.5 mm on its comparison page.
Water-resistance listing IPX4 sweat and water resistance, per Beats. No IPX4 rating listed on Beats’ comparison page.
Battery life with ANC Up to 32 hours, per Beats. Up to 24 hours, per Beats.
Cushions Interchangeable earcup and headband cushions. UltraPlush cushions, according to Beats.

The battery figures are manufacturer specifications, not comparative test results. Beats’ comparison page also lists an original Beats 360 price of $349.99; AppleInsider reported the same US price and named Amazon and B&H as retailers in its September 2026 review. Treat that as source-reported pricing, not a live price or stock check. The review frames Beats 360 as a lower-priced in-house alternative to AirPods Max, but current prices and model availability should be checked before making a direct price comparison.

Should you buy Beats 360?

Beats 360 makes the most sense if you want a wireless over-ear pair that can move between daily listening and workouts, and you expect to use the swappable cushions rather than treat them as a novelty. The review’s sound, comfort, ANC and fit feedback is positive, while the manufacturer’s IPX4 rating and battery claims address practical everyday needs.

Look elsewhere if wired listening or lossless audio through a cable is essential. Before buying, check the current price, retailer availability and cushion-kit options, since the reported US price and retailer names are not a live deal or stock check.
