The be quiet! Pure Loop 3 280mm is a straightforward, unlit liquid cooler with two 140mm fans, broad current Intel and AMD socket support, and a manufacturer-listed assembly thickness of 52mm. An independent review positions it as a value-tier option for a mid-range gaming PC, but its accessible text does not publish the numerical temperature and noise results shown in its charts. Choose it if your case clears the radiator and you want a no-RGB 280mm AIO; verify fit and compare current prices before buying.
What the Pure Loop 3 280mm is
The Pure Loop 3 280mm is a sealed all-in-one liquid CPU cooler. be quiet! lists two Pure Wings 3 140mm PWM high-speed fans, an aluminum radiator, a copper cold plate, a 6-pole pump, sleeved tubes and a refill port. It has no lighting connector, so it suits a restrained, unlit build rather than a system where addressable RGB is a priority. The manufacturer’s EU and US product pages identify the models as BW028EU and BW028US, respectively: EU product page and US product page.
The 280mm class refers to the radiator’s fit for two 140mm fans; it is not a guarantee that the assembled cooler will fit every case that accepts a 280mm radiator. Check the complete assembly dimensions and your case’s supported mounting positions.
Dimensions, sockets and case fit
be quiet! lists the radiator alone at 317 × 140 × 27mm and the radiator-plus-fan assembly at 317 × 140 × 52mm. The listed tube length is 400mm. Before buying, check clearance at the specific location where you plan to mount it: case support, motherboard heatsinks, RAM height and tube routing can affect installation even when the CPU socket is supported.

These socket and physical specifications are from be quiet!’s product pages. Use the manufacturer’s CPU Cooler Check and your case manual to confirm compatibility for your exact parts; socket support alone cannot establish system clearance.
Fan, pump and noise specifications
The manufacturer specifies a pump speed range of 3,000–5,500 RPM and a maximum fan speed of 1,800 RPM. Its published noise figures are 16.5, 28.5 and 36.6 dB(A) at 50%, 75% and 100% RPM, respectively. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements or a promise that the cooler will sound the same in every PC; case layout and fan control affect the result.

- Light Loop 360mm White features 64 LEDs in total, leading stunning visuals. Since your PC is not like any other, you can individualize your build with numerous colors and illumination options. The uniquely illuminated cooling block and Light Wings LX fans make Light Loop 360mm White an undisputed highlight in any system.
- Light Loop 360mm White features 3 Light Wings LX 120mm PWM high-speed White fans. They come with 16 LEDs that perfectly scatter across the fan blades and are key for the stunning visuals Light Loop 360mm White offers. The fan’s 9 airflow-optimized fan blades not only reduce noise-generating turbulences but also ensure that Light Wings LX 120mm PWM high-speed White provides the performance that is needed, even in demanding scenarios.
- With Light Loop 360mm White even the most demanding applications can be used reliably. An immense cooling power provides low temperatures even during periods of peak CPU performance. Perfectly suited for your next session!
- Jet plate, pump and the cold plate of Light Loop 360mm White are designed for peak performance. The metal jet plate increases flow speed of the cooling liquid, leading to an enhanced performance. A cold plate with a high-density fin stack increases cooling performance on modern flagship and high-end CPUs. Finally, a progressive IC in the motor reduces switching noise, ensuring the noise of the pump stays at a low level.
- The ARGB-PWM-Hub enables synchronization of up to 6 PWM fans and 6 ARGB components. This allows you to control all your cooling and lighting gear with just one PWM and one ARGB header on your motherboard. It can be positioned anywhere inside the case with adhesive tape or screw holes that match a 2.5” SSD mounting.
The two fans can be connected in series through their daisy-chain wiring. be quiet! says, “The daisy chain function of Pure Loop 3 280mm allows all fans to be connected in series.” This can reduce the number of separate fan leads routed to motherboard headers.

What the independent review establishes
Dewayne Carel’s Modders Inc review, published September 28, 2026, describes testing with a sustained 220W load and a separate overclocked test at 5.1GHz or higher with a 250W limit. The review says it used OCCT for 30 minutes and compared subjective noise at 50%, 75% and 100% fan speed. Its accessible article text discusses charts displayed as images but does not state readable numerical temperature or noise outcomes. Those results therefore cannot be reliably summarized here as benchmark numbers.

- The Light Loop IO LCD 360mm White features a striking cooling unit with a 2.1-inch IPS display, 500 nit brightness and vivid RGB lighting, offering extensive customization for system stats, images, videos, and visual presets.
- Jet plate, pump and cold plate are engineered for high efficiency and whisper-quiet operation. A precision metal jet plate boosts coolant flow, while the dense fin stack and optimized motor circuitry ensure excellent heat dissipation.
- The setup includes 3 daisy-chained Light Wings LX PWM high-speed fans. Each fan uses 16 evenly placed LEDs and 9 airflow-optimized blades, reducing turbulence while delivering strong cooling performance even under heavy workloads.
- Built for intensive applications, the Light Loop IO LCD 360mm White maintains low CPU temperatures under sustained maximum load. Its powerful cooling capacity ensures reliable stability for demanding creative tasks and extended gaming sessions.
- The included IO Controller combines ARGB, PWM and display control through a single cable, with hidden fan wiring along the tubes. An easy-access refill port and included coolant support safe refilling and long service life.
Carel characterizes the Pure Loop 3 as a value-tier cooler and recommends it for a mid-range gaming build when a 280mm radiator fits. The review suggests considering a larger Pure Loop 3 variant or Silent Loop 3 for high-TDP overclocked CPUs; that is the reviewer’s guidance, not a universal wattage cutoff. Read the Modders Inc review for its full discussion.
Price and value context
The manufacturer lists suggested retail prices of €99.90 for the EU BW028EU and €109.90 for the US BW028US. These are regional RRPs, not live offers. The Modders Inc review listed $94.90 USD in its specification box on September 28, 2026, and described the street price as under $100 at that time. The review’s reported price and the manufacturer’s regional suggested prices describe different markets and contexts, so they are not like-for-like current comparisons. Check current local listings before deciding whether it represents good value.

- Powerful 3-chamber pump design significantly reduces turbulences and noise
- Dampened and adjustable pump with 6-pole motor
- 3 Silent Wings 4 120mm PWM high-speed fans with radiator corners for virtually inaudible operation
- Incredibly high cooling performance with engineered cooling block
- Wide CPU plate coverage with threadripper support
Who should consider it—and what to compare
This cooler is most compelling for a builder who wants an unlit 280mm AIO, values the tidy fan wiring and refill-port design, and has verified the case clearance. The available evidence does not establish a numerical performance advantage over a particular air cooler or another 280mm AIO, so treat cooling claims comparatively only when reviews use similar CPUs, power settings, ambient conditions and noise methods.
- Consider it for a mid-range gaming build with a confirmed 280mm mounting location and supported socket.
- Look elsewhere if you specifically want lighting, or if your case cannot accommodate the 317 × 140 × 52mm assembly.
- Compare carefully if you run a high-power overclock: the independent reviewer advises looking at larger models, but does not establish a hard CPU wattage threshold.
When comparing alternatives, prioritize case fit, socket support, comparable cooling and acoustic testing, current street price, lighting preference and warranty rather than radiator size alone.
