BAE Systems’ Cyber & Intelligence segment reported £2,397 million in sales and £223 million in underlying EBIT for 2025. In July 2026, the company raised its full-year Group underlying EBIT growth guidance to 10–12%. That forecast upgrade applies to BAE Systems as a whole—not specifically to Cyber & Intelligence.
What Cyber & Intelligence includes
BAE Systems describes Cyber & Intelligence as comprising its US-based Intelligence & Security business and UK-headquartered Digital Intelligence business. Its cyber security activities serve national security, central government and government enterprises. The company outlined the segment in its FY 2025 Preliminary Results Announcement, published 18 February 2026.
How the segment performed in 2025
For the year ended 31 December 2025, the segment reported £2,397 million in sales and £223 million in underlying EBIT. BAE reported sales growth of 2% and underlying EBIT growth of 15%, both on a constant-currency basis; these are not reported-currency growth rates. Return on sales was 9.3%. The segment recorded £2.7 billion in order intake and a £2.1 billion order backlog. BAE’s segment order figures include the Group’s share of equity-accounted investments.
Underlying EBIT is not the IFRS operating-profit figure
BAE labels underlying financial measures as alternative performance measures that are not defined by IFRS. For Cyber & Intelligence in 2025, the company reported £182 million in IFRS operating profit alongside £223 million in underlying EBIT. Sales and IFRS revenue were both £2,397 million. The distinction matters when comparing BAE’s adjusted measure with statutory results or figures from another company.

What BAE said drove segment sales growth
BAE said the segment’s sales growth was predominantly related to counter-uncrewed aerial system (counter-UAS) sales in Digital Intelligence, following the prior-year acquisition of Kirintec. The company describes Kirintec as specializing in cyber and electromagnetic activities, counter-improvised explosive devices and counter-UAS products for military customers. This is BAE’s explanation of the reported segment growth; it does not establish that every part of Cyber & Intelligence grew.
What changed in BAE Systems’ 2026 forecast
In its 2026 half-year results, published 30 July 2026, BAE reported first-half Group sales growth of 9%, underlying EBIT growth of 11% and an £84.0 billion Group order backlog at 30 June. The company cited strong first-half operational performance when raising its full-year outlook.
The updated guidance is for the Group, not the Cyber & Intelligence segment. BAE’s growth guidance uses a constant-currency basis and an exchange rate of $1.32 to £1.

What the latest figures do—and do not—show
The July 2026 half-year release supplies Group results and updated Group guidance, but does not state Cyber & Intelligence’s first-half sales or underlying EBIT. Group-wide growth therefore cannot be used to calculate or infer the segment’s interim performance. The latest segment figures in the reviewed releases are for the full year ended 31 December 2025.
BAE Systems Chief Executive Charles Woodburn said the company’s results reflected “another year of strong operational and financial performance,” and pointed to a record order backlog and ongoing investment as reasons for confidence in growth. Those are management’s characterizations and outlook, rather than independently established forecasts.
