Babbel Lifetime is a one-time purchase for access to the services named in your order—not a promise that every future Babbel product or feature will be included forever. Your access lasts while Babbel continues to offer and support the relevant language, under the applicable license terms. Check the localized checkout page and order details before paying.
What Babbel Lifetime includes
Babbel subscriptions provide access to self-study content on the Babbel website and its smartphone and tablet apps. Learning progress syncs across devices, so you can continue on another supported device. The exact services covered by a Lifetime purchase are those described in its order; Babbel’s terms do not automatically extend that license to services introduced later. Babbel End User Terms

Clause 13.2 of Babbel’s End User Terms says a Lifetime License grants access to the services described in the order for as long as Babbel offers and supports the relevant language as part of its services. The license is therefore limited by both the order’s scope and the continued availability and support of that language. It does not guarantee access to every future Babbel service or feature.
#1 Best Overall
- Everyday German for Germany, Austria and Switzerland: essential words, each with a short sample sentence, for real travel situations.
- Word, sentence and pronunciation on every card: the front shows a German word and a short sentence using it. The back gives the English translation of both, plus phonetic pronunciation, so you learn each word in context.
- Built for real travel situations: the words travelers actually use, not 1,000 you'll never need. Greet locals, order food, ask for directions and more, plus 5 proverbs to impress the locals.
- Compact, sturdy and beautifully designed: 60 cards in a box that fits easily in luggage, a backpack or a carry-on. Study on the flight, review at a café, and keep them for the next trip.
- A thoughtful gift for travelers: perfect for anyone planning a trip to Germany, Austria or Switzerland, a student starting German, or a friend who loves to travel. Travelflips flash cards are also available in 8 other languages.
How much does a Babbel subscription cost?
Babbel says prices vary by location, subscription duration, and purchase channel. Lifetime is a one-time payment with no recurring fee; ordinary subscriptions are paid up front for their subscription period and may renew depending on the plan. Since a price shown in one country or sales channel may not apply elsewhere, use the checkout page for your location and purchase route to confirm the current amount and terms. What to check before you buy
- Review the order’s coverage. Confirm which services and language or languages the Lifetime License names. Do not assume it covers later releases unless the order says so.
- Check the course for your language. Compare the available lessons and tools with your learning goal; the content mix varies across languages.
- Compare the real cost. Check the one-time Lifetime price at your localized checkout against what you would pay for the subscription period you are realistically likely to use.
- Compare purchase channels. Babbel says the price may differ depending on where you buy, so check the applicable channel before deciding.
- Try a lesson first. Babbel says visitors can try the first lesson of every course for free, which can help you assess the teaching style before committing. Can I try Babbel for free?
What types of subscriptions are available?
Babbel offers subscription options with different durations, and the available choices and prices can depend on location and purchase channel. Babbel describes Lifetime and Babbel as a Gift as one-time purchases without recurring fees. Gift access covers all languages, may be purchased for a selected period including Lifetime, has no automatic renewal, and the voucher must be redeemed within three years. How to judge Babbel’s scale claims
Babbel’s undated About page reports 25 million subscriptions sold, 60,000 lessons, and 14 languages. The page does not state the year for those figures, so treat them as undated company-reported numbers rather than current, dated statistics. Babbel About
