There is no single nationwide answer. The U.S. real-money horse-racing service once branded b spot was identified by its operator as Horseplay in an April 2024 announcement. Whether you can legally register and wager depends on your location and current operator eligibility rules. Check those before depositing; don’t rely on the old b spot name or a general claim that the service is legal everywhere.
What happened to b spot?
Game Play Network announced Horseplay in April 2024 as the successor to its b Spot beta app and website, and said its consumer business was conducted through Horseplay.com. So a search for “b spot” may lead to information about a service now presented under the Horseplay name.
The announcement describes Horseplay as a digital entertainment service in which games follow wagers on live horse races. It says the games include slot-style and matching formats, with outcomes correlated to race-wager results. This is not simply a description of ordinary games played independently of a horse-race wager.

Game Play Network describes itself as an advance-deposit wagering company licensed for internet horse-race wagering under the Federal Interstate Horseracing Act and applicable state laws. That is the operator’s description of its business; it is not independent confirmation that the product is lawful or available to every person in every state.

Is it legal to play at b spot or Horseplay?
Eligibility is location-specific. The operator says its wagering is subject to applicable state laws, and the available information does not establish a current official list of every eligible jurisdiction. A service’s presence online, its operator’s licensing description, or another state’s rules cannot by itself establish that you may wager from your location.
- Check the current operator eligibility controls. Use Horseplay’s own registration or location-check process to see whether your physical location is accepted. Do not try to bypass geolocation or other eligibility checks.
- Confirm the rule with the relevant state authority. Look for current state guidance that specifically addresses online advance-deposit horse-race wagering, rather than assuming that a sports-betting rule answers the question.
- Read the current account terms before funding an account. Confirm the rules for identity verification, wagering, deposits, and withdrawals that apply to your location. The available sources do not establish that any particular reader can register, deposit, or withdraw.
A secondary state-availability guide updated in September 2026 lists Horseplay as unavailable in Ohio. Treat that as a current lead to verify with the operator and Ohio authorities, not as an official legal ruling or a complete list of permitted states.

Is b spot legal in Ohio?
The September 2026 secondary guide lists Horseplay as unavailable in Ohio. That is a reason to check directly with the operator and the appropriate Ohio authority before taking any action; it is not, by itself, an official determination of Horseplay’s legal status.
Ohio Revised Code § 3775.12(A) addresses a different activity: in-person sports wagers at a Type B sports-gaming facility. It says such a proprietor may accept those wagers only from people at least 21 years old who are physically present at the facility. Ohio’s Chapter 3775 concerns sports gaming and its licensing framework. Those provisions do not determine whether Horseplay’s online horse-race wagering is authorized in Ohio.

In particular, the Type B rule should not be treated as permission to use Horseplay online—or as a Horseplay-specific prohibition. Horseplay’s operator describes a horse-race advance-deposit wagering model, which is a distinct question from the cited in-person sports-wagering provision.
How current is the information about Horseplay?
The operator’s April 4, 2024 announcement said Horseplay was then live in 18 states and reached 36% of the U.S. population. Those are historical operator-published figures, not a verified 2026 coverage count. The announcement establishes the name transition and describes the product at that time, but does not establish which features or jurisdictions are current in October 2026.

Before relying on any availability claim, check the operator’s current location controls and the relevant state authority. Do not assume that an old b spot listing, a 2024 state count, or an undated third-party page reflects today’s rules.
