The Ausclimate WDH-070EBP is a compressor dehumidifier rated to extract up to 50 litres of water per day under warm, humid test conditions. It has a large removable tank and several drainage options, but CHOICE lists it as discontinued, and its published capacity should not be read as typical daily output in every home. It may suit a damp space or indoor laundry if you can find a unit with clear warranty and service support; weigh its size and reported noise against your needs.
What the WDH-070EBP is designed to do
Ausclimate calls the WDH-070EBP its “SUPREME all-seasons 50L dehumidifier.” CHOICE categorizes it as a refrigeration, or compressor, dehumidifier—not a desiccant model. Compressor units extract moisture by cooling air; the manufacturer lists hot-gas defrost for this model to support operation in cooler conditions.
The headline 50 L/day rating is specified at 30°C and 80% relative humidity. It is a capacity figure under that stated condition, not a guarantee that the unit will collect 50 litres in a day in a cooler or drier room. Actual extraction depends on the room’s temperature and humidity, among other conditions.
Ausclimate’s information sheet describes the unit as suitable for laundry drying, and lists electronic humidity controls, variable humidity settings, a timer and auto restart. These features give it flexibility for household use, but the supplied information does not establish how quickly it dries a particular room or laundry load.

Room size and published specifications
CHOICE lists a recommended room size of 105 m² and an operating range of 5–32°C. Ausclimate’s information sheet gives the same area and also describes the space as 260 m³. Treat these as manufacturer/listing guidance rather than a promise of uniform performance throughout a home of that size; room layout, air circulation and moisture sources matter.

The manufacturer information sheet is not enough to settle every revision-sensitive specification: surfaced documents differ on power input and refrigerant. Check the label and manual for the exact unit rather than assuming every WDH-070EBP listing describes identical hardware.

Drainage: tank, gravity hose or pump-out
The 8 L tank offers a self-contained option, but it needs emptying as it fills. For a fixed setup, the information sheet lists both continuous drainage and auto pump-out. These are distinct arrangements: the retailer’s product-page guidance says a drain hose used for continuous drainage requires gravity feed. Do not assume that hose pumps water uphill; the pump-out option is the one described as automatic.

- Continuous drain: Arrange the hose so water can flow downhill to a suitable drain.
- Auto pump-out: The manufacturer lists a pump-out function and a 5 m hose. Follow the applicable manual for setup and placement.
What CHOICE’s review does—and does not—show
CHOICE’s public listing gives the claimed extraction capacity, recommended room size, operating range, two fan speeds, weight and a two-year warranty, and marks the model discontinued. Its detailed Expert Rating, measured water removal, energy-efficiency, ease-of-use and power results are behind member access. The public information therefore does not support a numerical test verdict or a claim that its real-world extraction has been independently established here.

Owner feedback: useful signals, not reliability statistics
When surfaced in 2026, ProductReview.com.au showed 4.5 stars from 74 reviews; Appliances Online showed 4.6 from 45 reviews. Both figures are mutable snapshots from self-selected reviewers, not controlled performance or failure-rate data.
Individual accounts include praise for moisture removal and laundry drying, as well as complaints about noticeable noise, leakage, starting faults and service experiences. These accounts can help identify questions to ask before buying, but they do not establish how common those problems are. One ProductReview.com.au user asked about water dripping when moving the unit after removing a tray; that single report is not evidence that the model generally leaks.

Should you buy the WDH-070EBP?
For a remaining-stock unit, the case for buying it rests on the combination of a high stated capacity, an 8 L tank, laundry-drying use and multiple drainage options. The trade-offs are its roughly 20.5–21 kg listed weight, a 55 dBA manufacturer-listed noise figure, and uncertainty about the precise specification revision and current service support.

Before paying, confirm the unit is genuinely available, obtain the manual and specification details matching its label, and get the warranty and repair arrangements in writing. If comparing a current alternative, compare extraction and energy figures measured under matching temperature and humidity conditions, plus noise, drainage, warranty and local support—not just the largest litres-per-day number.
