The Ausclimate NWT WDH-930DA is a large-capacity compressor dehumidifier whose manufacturer rates it to remove up to 35 litres of moisture per day under warm, very humid test conditions. Its 6 L tank, continuous-drain option and stated room guidance of up to 50 m² or 125 m³ make it a candidate for larger household spaces. But the 35 L/day, 495 W and 48 dBA figures are manufacturer specifications, not public independent test results: CHOICE lists this exact model, while its detailed scores and measurements are member-only on the page reviewed.
What the WDH-930DA is—and what this review can verify
Ausclimate describes the WDH-930DA as its large 35 L dehumidifier and calls it suitable for family homes, clothes drying and “deep down drying.” Those are the manufacturer’s descriptions, not independently established performance outcomes. The available public evidence supports a specification-led assessment; it does not support a firsthand-use verdict or a claim that this model is quiet, especially efficient or best in class.
CHOICE’s public listing identifies the exact WDH-930DA as a refrigeration dehumidifier and repeats several of its published specifications. However, the detailed expert rating, water-removal and energy-efficiency scores, noise test and measured tank capacity are not visible to non-members on the page reviewed. How to interpret capacity and room-size claims
35 L/day is a conditional rating
The stated 35 L/day extraction rate applies at 30°C and 80% relative humidity. It is not an unconditional promise that the unit will collect 35 litres every day in an ordinary room. Cooler or drier air can change how much moisture a dehumidifier removes; the available public information does not provide measured extraction rates for other conditions.

Room guidance is a recommendation, not a guarantee
Ausclimate recommends the unit for spaces up to 50 m² or 125 m³. Whether that suits a particular room also depends on its moisture load and conditions. The published figure is useful for narrowing options, but does not establish the result a household will get in a specific space.
Power and noise figures are label specifications
The 495 W input and 48 dBA noise rating are also manufacturer-stated figures. Without accessible independent measurements under described, comparable conditions, they do not establish real-world energy efficiency or how loud the appliance will seem in a particular room.

Temperature limits, defrost and care
The published operating range is 5–32°C, and the manual says not to use the appliance below 5°C. In automatic periodic defrost, the compressor stops while the fan continues until frost melts; dehumidification then resumes. The manual says defrost duration varies with room temperature and humidity, so pauses in compressor operation can be part of the described process.
The manual marks R290 repair instructions “AUTHORISED PERSONS ONLY.” Refrigerant-system repair should be left to authorised service personnel rather than attempted as a DIY repair.

Specification-sheet discrepancy to check before buying
An older Ausclimate specification-sheet copy lists different details, including R-410A refrigerant, 520 W input and a 13.5 kg weight. The 2022 specification sheet and 2022 manual identify R290 and align on 495 W and 14.5 kg. This appears to be a document revision or historical-specification discrepancy; for a particular unit, check its rating label and the manual revision supplied with it rather than combining figures from different sheets.
Should you consider the Ausclimate WDH-930DA?
It is worth comparing if you want a larger-capacity compressor unit, need the option of continuous drainage, and find Ausclimate’s stated room guidance and temperature range appropriate for your space. Its headline capacity is meaningful only with the stated 30°C and 80% RH condition in mind.
If independent evidence of extraction, noise or energy performance is important to your decision, the publicly visible CHOICE listing does not provide those detailed results. Compare models using test data measured under comparable conditions where available, and check the exact unit’s rating label and documentation if its refrigerant or electrical specifications matter to you.
