The Ausclimate ACPAC205SG is a cooling-only portable air conditioner listed with 2 kW of cooling capacity. The key practical point is that it needs its window kit and exhaust hose installed to vent hot air outdoors; without that setup, it will circulate air rather than cool the room as intended. Public information identifies some specifications, but does not reveal the independent test results needed to judge its real-world cooling, noise or energy use.
What the Ausclimate ACPAC205SG is
Ausclimate calls the ACPAC205SG its Smart Compact Portable AC. CHOICE classifies it as a cooling-only portable air conditioner. That distinction matters: the manufacturer’s setup guidance mentions cooling or heating in general, but the accessible CHOICE listing identifies this model as cooling-only.
CHOICE lists a 2 kW cooling capacity, two fan speeds and R290 refrigerant. Its listing says a window kit and remote control are supplied. These are listed specifications, not independently verified performance results.

Ausclimate describes the product as designed for medium-sized rooms, but the available evidence does not establish a precise suitable room area. Do not infer one from the 2 kW capacity alone.
Installation: exhaust the hot air outdoors
The window kit is essential to the intended cooling setup. Ausclimate’s support article puts it plainly: “If you do not connect the window kit and expel the unwanted air out of the room, you will not be able to cool or heat the room; you will move the air around a bit!” The kit routes exhaust outdoors; the appliance is not a self-contained substitute for that venting.

Ausclimate’s sliding-window kit instructions specify at least 300 mm clearance around the appliance, including above it, and say to keep the exhaust unobstructed. They give an exhaust hose length range of 280–1,500 mm and warn against extension tubes or substituting a different hose, which may cause malfunction. Those instructions also specify installation, operation and storage in a room with a floor area greater than 11 m², and say not to use the unit in a bathroom or another humid environment. Confirm that the instructions apply to your exact regional version before following model-specific safety directions.
Warranty: verify the terms for your purchase
Ausclimate lists a two-year standard warranty for the ACPAC205SG and describes up to two additional years through its extended registration warranty for eligible products. The Australian warranty terms say the standard warranty applies to purchases directly from Ausclimate or an authorised reseller. They require registration within 90 days and proof of purchase. The extended arrangement is a replacement or exchange warranty, not a refund promise.
