Aura Password Manager is worth considering if you also want Aura’s identity and device-protection services. If you need only a password manager, the value is harder to make: Aura’s official US pricing lists broader subscriptions, not a password-manager-only plan, and the reviewed sources do not establish an independent security audit.
What Aura Password Manager includes
Aura says its password manager can save and generate passwords for unlimited accounts, sync changes across supported devices, and alert you to weak or compromised passwords. It also supports importing passwords from a browser or another password manager using a CSV file. Aura’s product page describes these features.
Aura lists extensions for Chrome, Firefox, and Edge, plus apps for iOS and Android. Its product page does not list a dedicated Windows or macOS password-manager desktop app. Security.org also reports that Aura lacks those desktop apps and describes a web dashboard; that dashboard description is the reviewer’s, not a feature detail established on Aura’s product page. What Aura costs—and what the price covers
Aura’s US-facing pricing page, checked October 7, 2026, lists Password Manager as part of three broader protection plans. The annual figures below are monthly equivalents billed annually; monthly figures are billed month to month. Check Aura’s pricing page for current prices and terms.

Aura advertises a 14-day free trial and a 60-day money-back guarantee on annual plans, subject to its terms. Trial eligibility, plan details, refund conditions, prices, and offers can change, so confirm them on the official plans page and terms before subscribing.
There is conflicting information about a password-manager-only or smaller bundle offer. Aura’s current pricing page reviewed here shows broader plans that include Password Manager. Security.org’s 2026 review says the manager can be purchased on its own and reports a bundle starting at $1.99 per month billed annually. That offer is not shown on Aura’s reviewed pricing page, so verify availability directly with Aura rather than treating it as a current price. Security.org’s review describes the reported offer.

Is Aura worth it for your situation?
It may fit if you will use the wider protection plan
The clearest case for Aura is a person or household that wants password management together with the plan’s antivirus, VPN, and identity or fraud-protection features. Compare the full subscription cost with the services you would otherwise buy and use. The password manager is part of that bundle, not the only product represented by the official plan prices.

A dedicated manager may suit password-only needs better
If your priority is simply storing, generating, and syncing passwords, compare dedicated password managers on their total cost, browser and operating-system support, mobile apps, import workflow, and security documentation. Aura’s listed access options may be limiting if you expect a dedicated Windows or macOS app. The available sources do not establish a current, like-for-like comparison that would justify naming a winner.

Security claims and what they establish
Aura says user information is secured with “256-AES (Advanced Encryption Standard)” and compares the technology with encryption generally used by major banks and the military. That is Aura’s description of its product. The sources reviewed do not establish an independent audit, provide a detailed account of its encryption architecture, or independently verify the implementation. Encryption wording alone is not evidence of an audit or a complete security assessment. Aura’s product page contains the claim.
A separate incident deserves careful, limited interpretation. TechRadar reported that Aura disclosed a March 2026 phishing attack targeting one employee, resulting in unauthorized access to 900,000 records, mainly names and email addresses. The report said Social Security numbers and financial data were not compromised; it did not establish that password-vault contents were accessed. This is a reported incident figure and scope, not a general measure of password-manager risk. TechRadar’s report gives the details.

Aura also says that no identity-theft protection service can prevent all risk of identity theft and fraud. That statement concerns identity protection generally, rather than a password-manager guarantee. Aura’s FAQ explains the limitation.
How to move passwords into Aura safely
- Export passwords from your current browser or password manager as a CSV file, following that service’s export steps.
- In Aura, use its password-import workflow to select the CSV file. Aura says it supports imports from a browser or another password manager; available source material does not specify a single universal set of menu labels for every device or source manager.
- Check that important logins transferred correctly before deleting or closing your old manager.
- Delete the exported CSV when the import is complete, and remove it from places where it may have been copied, such as the desktop or downloads folder. A password CSV can expose every login in it to anyone who obtains the file.
Import support can make migration easier, but a successful import does not itself confirm that every field or login transferred correctly. Verify critical accounts directly before relying on the new vault.
