If your AULA keyboard’s RGB lighting is not working on a Mac or Linux PC, start with the exact model name—not a generic AULA driver or RGB app. The available instructions cover OpenRGB for the AULA F75 on Linux and a separate community command-line tool for the AULA F3261 on Linux. OpenRGB runs on macOS, but its availability does not confirm support for your particular AULA keyboard.
Identify the AULA model before changing software
Find the model printed on the keyboard, its box, or your purchase record, and note whether it is connected by USB or another mode. A tool that recognizes one AULA device is not necessarily compatible with another.
Check the exact model in AULA’s Software & Drivers catalog. AULA provides a model-searchable catalog for Windows drivers, firmware, and configuration tools. Use only downloads listed for your model; do not install firmware intended for another keyboard.

As a basic diagnostic, check whether the keyboard lights up before the operating system loads or when connected to another computer. This can help distinguish an operating-system or software issue from a possible keyboard or connection issue, but it is not a model-wide AULA test.

Fix lighting on the AULA F75 in Linux
The F75 guide identifies USB ID 258a:010c and documents an OpenRGB-based setup. Follow that guide only for the F75 and compatible builds; it is not a general AULA installation procedure.
- Confirm that your keyboard is an AULA F75 and that its USB ID is
258a:010c. If the model or ID differs, do not apply the F75-specific instructions. - Follow the current steps in the F75 Linux setup guide to install and configure OpenRGB.
- In OpenRGB, select Devices → AULA F75, then switch to Direct mode to set the lighting options described in the guide.
- Keep OpenRGB running. In Direct mode, the guide says the keyboard reverts to its built-in cycling effect when lighting updates stop; its setup uses OpenRGB’s keepalive behavior to maintain the selected lighting.
Fix lighting on the AULA F3261 in Linux
The F3261 has a different documented path from the F75: a community-maintained aula command-line project for USB ID 258a:0049. The project explicitly says OpenRGB does not support that product ID, so do not use the F75 OpenRGB steps as a substitute.

Use the project’s current F3261 CLI instructions for its commands and udev configuration. These are advanced community instructions and may change; review them for your Linux distribution and device before applying them.

OpenRGB lists macOS among its supported platforms, and its releases page provides builds for Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. That establishes macOS app availability, not compatibility with every AULA keyboard.

- Check the OpenRGB platform page and releases page for macOS availability, then verify whether your exact AULA model is supported before relying on OpenRGB.
- If the keyboard is not listed as supported, do not assume that installing a Mac build will make it appear or allow lighting changes. The model-specific Linux guides cited here do not establish that their setup works on macOS.
The OpenRGB releases page lists multiple releases, including Release 1.0 and Release Candidate 1.0rc3 dated June 28, 2026. Because the page lists more than one release, use the current release page to select a suitable build rather than assuming the dated release candidate is the newest.
