In the U.S., Amazon Prime does not include an ongoing Audible membership. Audible is a separate subscription, with listed prices starting at $8.99 per month for Standard and $14.95 per month for Premium with one credit. Eligible Prime members may be offered a free Premium trial that includes two audiobooks, but that is a limited trial offer—not Audible free for as long as Prime remains active.
How much does Audible cost in the U.S.?
Audible’s 2026 U.S. help page lists the following membership prices. These are Audible membership charges, separate from any Prime fee.

Audible says special offers can change the price, and subscriptions billed through Google Play or the App Store may cost a different amount from subscriptions billed through Audible.com. Confirm the amount and terms shown at checkout before subscribing.

Does Amazon Prime include Audible?
No. Audible states that it is not included with an Amazon Prime subscription; you need a separate Audible membership to receive the ongoing benefits of Standard or Premium. A Prime account therefore does not, by itself, provide an Audible credit or unlimited access to Audible’s included catalog.

What do Prime members get from Audible?
Eligible Prime members may be offered a free Audible Premium trial that includes two free audiobooks. Eligibility and promotional terms apply, so the offer may not appear for every account and should not be treated as a permanent Prime benefit. Check the trial’s length, what happens when it ends, and the renewal price displayed before accepting.
How Standard differs from Premium
Standard: one chosen audiobook
Standard costs $8.99 per month on Audible’s 2026 U.S. price list. It gives you one monthly selection from Audible’s collection to download and listen to offline. That selected title is not a permanent keep: access lasts only while the Standard membership remains active. Monthly selections that you do not use do not carry forward.

Premium: credits plus included-catalog listening
Premium adds monthly credits that can be redeemed for titles in Premium selections, access to an included listening catalog while the membership is active, and member discounts on purchases. Its monthly options are one credit for $14.95 or two credits for $22.95. Annual Premium plans charge once per year and provide either 12 or 24 credits at purchase.
Included-catalog listening is not the same as unlimited streaming of every Audible title. A title outside the included catalog may require a credit or a separate purchase, depending on its availability and your membership.

Is Audible Plus still available to new members?
Audible lists Plus at $7.95 per month for existing members, but says new members have been unable to sign up for Plus since March 3, 2026. That legacy price is not a currently available sign-up option for someone choosing a new plan.

Audible says qualifying Amazon Music Unlimited Individual subscribers, as well as the primary account holder on a Family plan, can listen to one Audible audiobook per month. This is tied to eligible Music Unlimited subscriptions, not to Prime membership alone, and it does not make an Audible membership part of Prime.

Which plan should you choose?
- Choose Standard if one selected audiobook a month meets your needs and you do not need Premium’s included-catalog listening or credits for Premium selections.
- Choose monthly Premium if you want Premium benefits without paying for a full year upfront. Compare the one- and two-credit options against how many eligible titles you expect to redeem.
- Consider annual Premium if you want the annual billing cadence and the credit allotment supplied at purchase. Check the annual plan’s terms and checkout price before committing.
- Check a Prime trial offer if one is available to your account, but evaluate its post-trial renewal terms as a separate Audible subscription decision.
