At least five workers were reported killed and more than 10 seriously injured in a boiler explosion at a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, on Saturday, October 3, 2026. Early reports identify the facility as TIL Healthcare or Till Healthcare; the spelling and the final casualty toll have not been confirmed by an official statement in the reports cited here. The cause was not known.
What happened at the Sri City facility
Hindustan Times reported that the explosion occurred during the night shift at a pharmaceutical manufacturing site described as producing tablets, and that it triggered a fire. NDTV and UNI also reported an explosion at the facility in Sri City. Coverage places the site in Satyavedu mandal, Tirupati district, Andhra Pradesh. Hindustan Times; NDTV; UNI.
The reports describe the timing somewhat differently: Hindustan Times places the incident during a night shift, while other coverage refers to a morning explosion. The exact time has not been established in the reporting cited here.

Reported deaths and injuries
Hindustan Times reported at least five deaths and more than 10 serious injuries. NDTV reported five deaths and 10 serious injuries. UNI reported five deaths, specifying that two workers died at the scene and three later while receiving hospital treatment; it also reported more than 10 injured. Emergency and rescue operations were reported at the site, and injured workers were taken for medical care. The reports cited here do not establish the identities of those killed or injured.
Facility name and response
The facility is identified as “Till Healthcare” by Hindustan Times and “TIL Healthcare” by NDTV and UNI. Until the company or authorities confirm its legal name, neither spelling should be treated as definitive.

Hindustan Times reported that Andhra Pradesh minister Nara Lokesh called the deaths and injuries “deeply tragic,” and said he had directed officials to ensure treatment for the injured and promised government support to the families of those killed. Hindustan Times.

The cause had not been established in the reports available on October 3, 2026. None of the cited reports identifies a verified mechanical failure or assigns responsibility. Any explanation of how the boiler exploded would be speculation until investigators or authorities issue findings.
