The ASUS VH242H is a 23.6-inch LCD monitor whose manual lists HDMI, DVI, and VGA (D-Sub) inputs and a maximum documented timing of 1920 × 1080 at 60 Hz. It is a legacy model, so check the exact model suffix, rear ports, and condition before buying a used unit or an adapter. ASUS maintains a VH242H support page with support and service resources.
What is the ASUS VH242H?
The VH242H is an ASUS widescreen LCD monitor. ASUS’s support site still has a product page for the model, but its availability caveat means that page should not be taken as proof that the monitor is currently sold new in your market. The exact model suffix matters: verify that the rear label says VH242H rather than relying on a seller’s broad or incomplete description.
ASUS lists a VH242/VH222 Series User Guide dated 2008-11-14 on its manual and document page. The technical details below are those documented in a model-specific copy of that guide, not measurements from a tested unit.

What resolution does the VH242H support?
The guide lists 1920 × 1080 at 60 Hz as a supported timing. That is Full HD, meaning a 1920-pixel-wide by 1080-pixel-high image. The documented 60 Hz timing is not evidence of support for modern high-refresh rates; do not choose this model expecting a high-refresh gaming display.

Does the VH242H have HDMI?
Yes. The model-specific guide documents HDMI, DVI, and VGA (D-Sub) as separate input options. Check the actual monitor’s rear panel and your computer or console’s video output before purchasing a cable or adapter. The guide does not establish which cables were included with a particular regional unit or used listing, and no adapter combination has been tested here.
- HDMI: A documented input; confirm the source device has a compatible output or determine the specific adapter needed.
- DVI: A separate documented digital input; do not confuse it with HDMI when checking ports or cables.
- VGA (D-Sub): A separate documented analog input; verify that your source can provide VGA or that a suitable conversion path exists.
Can you mount an ASUS VH242H?
The guide documents VESA wall mounting. Before ordering a mount, check the monitor’s rear mounting points and the dimensions and hardware required by the mount; the evidence here does not establish a specific compatible bracket or hardware bundle.
