The ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG34WCDN brings a 34-inch, 3440×1440 ultrawide OLED panel, a 360Hz maximum refresh rate, and a useful mix of desk connections into one premium monitor. Its RGB Stripe pixel layout is intended to improve text clarity, making it more appealing for desktop work than older QD-OLED designs. It makes the most sense if you want a wide OLED for both work and gaming and your PC can deliver high frame rates; otherwise, its premium price may be difficult to justify.
What the PG34WCDN offers
ASUS specifies a 34-inch curved Tandem RGB QD-OLED panel with a 1800R curve, 21:9 aspect ratio, and 3440×1440 resolution. That is ultrawide QHD, not 4K. Its maximum refresh rate is 360Hz, and ASUS lists a 0.03ms gray-to-gray response time. These are manufacturer specifications, not a promise that every game or PC will produce 360 frames per second. ASUS product page
The listed image specifications include HDR10, VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black, 99% DCI-P3 coverage, and 10-bit color. ASUS also lists BlackShield film. These features make the display a strong candidate for vivid gaming and media, although the specifications alone do not establish how it will look in every room or HDR scene.
Does its RGB pixel layout help with work?
Text clarity is one of this model’s more relevant differences for a monitor that will also handle documents, browsing, and other desktop tasks. ASUS says its RGB Stripe Pixel layout improves text clarity. RTINGS independently reports sharper text than on older QD-OLED subpixel layouts. That is a review finding, not a guarantee that every user, application, operating system, or viewing distance will produce perfectly crisp text. RTINGS review
#1 Best Overall
- Immersive 4K Gaming Display: 32-inch 4K (3840 x 2160) QD-OLED gaming monitor with 240 Hz refresh rate and 0.03 ms (GTG) response time for immersive gaming
- Advanced OLED Care Technology: New ASUS OLED Care Pro functions with Neo Proximity Sensor that precisely detects when the user is away, switching to a black screen to reduce the risk of burn-in
- Professional Color Accuracy: VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black compliance, 99% DCI-P3 gamut, true 10-bit color, and Delta E < 2 color difference for astonishing HDR performance for photo and video editing
- Uniform Brightness Control: Optional uniform brightness setting ensures consistent luminance levels across the entire display
- Intuitive Monitor Management: DisplayWidget Center allows users to access OLED Care functions, as well as adjust monitor settings with a mouse
The 3440×1440 resolution provides a wide desktop for side-by-side windows, but it does not have the pixel count of a 4K monitor. If your work depends on very fine text or detailed images, consider the resolution and your normal scaling and viewing distance alongside the panel’s subpixel layout. The RGB arrangement may address a common OLED text concern, but it does not turn this into a universal substitute for a high-resolution productivity display.
How much does 360Hz matter?
At 360Hz, the monitor can refresh more frequently than a conventional 60Hz or 120Hz display, which can make motion look smoother and provide a responsive feel in games that can run at very high frame rates. RTINGS reports smooth motion, fast response, and low input lag in its review. Those are reviewer observations; actual results depend on the game, settings, PC hardware, and connection.

- World's First 1440P 480Hz OLED Gaming Monitor: Experience unprecedented gaming performance with the industry's first 1440P resolution OLED display running at an incredible 480Hz refresh rate
- Ultra-Fast Response Time and High Refresh Rate: 26.5-inch QHD 480Hz WOLED gaming monitor delivers 0.03ms response time for sharp and ultra-fast gaming visuals without motion blur
- Exclusive Gaming AI Assistant: Advanced AI technology helps you better navigate your gaming experience with intelligent features and optimizations

- Superior Color Accuracy and HDR Performance: 99% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage and Delta E <2 color difference deliver astonishing HDR performance with true-to-life colors
To benefit fully from a 360Hz maximum, a system must render enough frames in the games you play. Demanding games at 3440×1440 may not approach that rate on many PCs, while lighter or competitive titles may be more attainable with suitable hardware and settings. If you expect to play well below 360 frames per second most of the time, the monitor can still be used at lower refresh rates, but you are paying for headroom you may not often use.
Connections and desk setup
ASUS lists DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR20, two HDMI 2.1 FRL ports, USB-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode and 90W Power Delivery, three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, and a KVM switch. The combination can simplify a desk shared between a gaming PC and a USB-C laptop: USB-C can carry video and provide power, while the KVM can switch connected peripherals between systems. Check your laptop’s USB-C capabilities and the monitor’s setup instructions to confirm the arrangement you need.

- Advanced Tandem OLED Technology: New Tandem OLED technology delivers 15% higher peak brightness, 25% larger color volume, and 60% longer OLED lifespan versus previous-generation WOLED panels
- TrueBlack Glossy Panel: New TrueBlack Glossy panel provides a zero-haze surface and exceptionally sharp imagery
- OLED Care Pro with Neo Proximity Sensor: ASUS OLED Care Pro with Neo Proximity Sensor precisely detects when the user is away and switches to a black screen to reduce the risk of burn-in
- Exceptional HDR Performance: VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black compliance, 99.5% DCI-P3 gamut, true 10-bit color, and Delta E<2 color difference for astonishing HDR performance
ASUS lists no built-in speakers, so plan on headphones or external audio if you need sound. ASUS also lists region-dependent cables and a VESA mount kit among box contents; check the packaging details for your market rather than assuming an accessory must be bought separately. ASUS specifications
What reviewers say about image and HDR performance
RTINGS describes the PG34WCDN as a high-end ultrawide OLED and reports strong picture quality alongside its gaming performance. Tom’s Guide praised its image and gaming performance but identified price as a drawback. In its 2026 review, Tom’s Guide measured 457–481 nits in a 10% HDR window and about 279–280 nits at full-screen area across the listed HDR modes. Those are that publication’s measurements, not guaranteed output for every unit or scene. Tom’s Guide review

Price, OLED care, and warranty
ASUS’s US store listed $1,299 during August 2026, but monitor prices and availability change. Treat that figure as a dated US listing, not a guaranteed current price. Check the live listing and competing 34-inch OLED prices before buying. Tom’s Guide also identifies price as a drawback, so the decision turns on whether the 360Hz ceiling, RGB Stripe layout, USB-C power, KVM, and connectivity are worth the premium for your use.
ASUS says OLED Care Pro is intended to reduce burn-in risk; it does not eliminate that risk. ASUS’s specification page lists a three-year warranty that includes panel burn-in, but coverage terms can vary by market. Read the warranty terms applicable where you are buying. Who should buy the PG34WCDN?
- A strong fit: You want a wide OLED for gaming and desktop work, value the RGB Stripe text improvement, and will make use of very high refresh rates or the USB-C/KVM desk features.
- Think twice: Your PC rarely reaches high frame rates at 3440×1440, you do not need the connection features, or you would rather spend less on a 34-inch OLED with a lower refresh rate.
- Look elsewhere: You specifically need 4K resolution, built-in speakers, or a display whose primary purpose is maximum desktop pixel density.
ASUS calls the PG34WCDN the world’s first RGB OLED gaming monitor, qualifying that claim as of January 2026. That is the manufacturer’s claim, not an independent category-wide finding. ASUS product page
