ASUS documents four ROG Strix Gold Aura PSU wattages: 750W, 850W, 1000W and 1200W. The 1200W is the highest-rated model in this named range. ASUS’s 2025 datasheet identifies it as an ATX 3.0, 80 PLUS Gold, fully modular supply with one 16-pin and four 8-pin PCIe GPU connectors. The wattage label alone does not establish whether a PSU suits a particular graphics card; check the GPU’s connector requirements and the power guidance for your complete system.

Which wattages are in the ROG Strix Gold Aura range?

ASUS lists the family in 750W, 850W, 1000W and 1200W versions. Its March–April 2026 promotion terms name all four models, while the 1200W datasheet is dated June 13, 2025. Those records establish the model range, but not a single global launch date for the family.

Among these named variants, 1200W is the highest rated. ASUS’s available detailed specifications cover the 750W, 1000W and 1200W models; the cited material does not establish equivalent detailed connector or feature specifications for the 850W model.

  • Features an Aluminum Case that is coupled to the internal power transformer, helping to reduce temperatures and noise levels. heatsink to reduce temperatures and noise levels.
  • Large ROG heatsinks cover critical components, delivering lower temperatures and noise than reference designs.
  • Axial-tech fan design features a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure.
  • Dual ball fan bearings can last up to twice as long as sleeve bearing designs.
  • 0dB Technology lets you enjoy light gaming in relative silence.

Is the 1200W Gold Aura ATX 3.0, and what connectors does it include?

Yes. ASUS’s 2025 1200W datasheet specifies ATX 3.0 and 80 PLUS Gold, and lists one 16-pin plus four 8-pin PCIe connectors for graphics power. It also describes the supply as fully modular, so the PSU-side cables can be detached when not needed.

The 180 × 150 × 86 mm dimensions are the 1200W unit’s stated size. Check the PSU clearance and cable-bend space in your case before choosing it; the wattage rating does not indicate whether the unit physically fits.

How should you choose a wattage for your GPU?

Start with the graphics card maker’s recommended PSU capacity and connector requirements, then account for the rest of the system. Connector count matters as well as total rated output: a listed 16-pin connector may suit a card requiring that connection, while systems with multiple 8-pin inputs need the appropriate number of 8-pin leads. Confirm the cable arrangement and requirements for the exact GPU and PSU rather than assuming that a larger wattage automatically means compatibility.

  • Consider 750W if the GPU and full system are within the card maker’s PSU guidance and its listed one 16-pin plus three 8-pin connector set meets your needs.
  • Consider 1000W when system requirements call for more capacity and its one 16-pin plus four 8-pin connector set matches the GPU cabling you need.
  • Consider 1200W if your complete build’s power requirements justify that capacity and its dimensions and connector set suit the build.

These are not universal GPU-to-PSU pairings: the available specifications do not provide a supported graphics-card compatibility list or system-specific power recommendations. Use your GPU maker’s guidance for the particular card and consider the entire system, not the GPU in isolation.

What do Aura RGB and the 0dB button mean?

ASUS’s 750W and 1000W specification pages list addressable RGB lighting with Aura Sync integration and a 0dB fan button. These features are documented for those two models in the cited pages; the cited material does not establish whether the 850W or 1200W model has the same features. ASUS also lists MTBF above 120,000 hours at 25°C for the 750W and 1000W models. MTBF is a specification figure under the stated temperature condition, not a promise that an individual PSU will last that long.
