ASUS has announced two ProArt laptops built around its RTX Spark platform: the 16-inch ProArt P16 (H7607) and 14-inch ProArt P14 (H7407). The P16 is listed with a 4K 120Hz OLED display and up to 128GB of unified memory. ASUS says first U.S. units are expected October 16, 2026; as of October 9, that date is still upcoming. The “MacBook Pro alternative” label is a comparison to evaluate, not a proven performance verdict.
Which ASUS laptops have RTX Spark?
The new RTX Spark ProArt family includes the ProArt P16 (H7607), a 16-inch laptop, and the ProArt P14 (H7407), a 14-inch model. ASUS also announced the GR1X, a mini PC, in the broader RTX Spark lineup; it is not a laptop. ASUS describes RTX Spark as combining a Blackwell RTX GPU, Grace CPU, fifth-generation Tensor Cores with FP4 support, and NVLink-C2C. What are the P16’s display and memory specifications?
4K 120Hz OLED display
ASUS lists the P16 with a 16-inch 4K 120Hz Lumina Pro OLED panel. ASUS also specifies up to 1,600 nits peak brightness, variable refresh up to 120Hz, Delta E < 1 color accuracy, and anti-reflection technology. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements presented here. The P14 is the smaller option, with a 14-inch 3K 120Hz OLED. ASUS’s P16 product page has model-specific information.
Up to 128GB of unified memory
ASUS lists P16 configurations with 24GB, 32GB, 48GB, 64GB, or 128GB of unified memory. That term matters: ASUS does not describe this as conventional upgradeable laptop RAM, so buyers should confirm the exact configuration they need rather than assume the memory can be expanded later. ASUS says selected configurations will be offered through its eShop and Best Buy; the 128GB configuration is also named for Micro Center. The launch announcement identifies those channels.

Is the P16’s storage confirmed at 2TB?
Notebookcheck reported that the P16 could be configured with up to a 2TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. The official ASUS pages reviewed for this article do not clearly confirm that maximum, so treat 2TB as secondary reporting rather than a verified ceiling for every market or configuration. Check the live listing for the regional H7607 SKU before ordering. Notebookcheck’s September 26, 2026 report is the source for the capacity detail.
Does “MacBook Pro alternative” mean it is faster?
No overall performance conclusion follows from the launch specifications. ASUS advertises up to 1 petaflop of FP4 AI performance and describes local model and agent capabilities, but those are manufacturer claims; they are not independent benchmark results. A useful comparison with a MacBook Pro 16 requires matching actual configurations and testing the applications and workflows that matter to you. Notebookcheck reported selected comparisons with 2026 MacBook Pro 16 configurations, but that is not a comprehensive head-to-head evaluation.

Before choosing between them, compare:
- Software fit: Confirm that your creative, development, or AI applications and required plugins work on the operating system you intend to use.
- Workload performance: Look for independent results for your own tasks, such as rendering, video export, or local AI inference; do not infer a winner from core counts or AI marketing figures alone.
- Display needs: Compare resolution, brightness, refresh behavior, color accuracy, and reflections on the exact configurations under consideration.
- Memory and storage: Check capacity and architecture, and verify the precise SKU. The P16’s listed memory is unified; the reported 2TB SSD ceiling is not clearly confirmed on ASUS’s reviewed pages.
- Mobility and value: Compare measured battery life and weight, ports, and current prices once exact retail configurations are listed. Those details do not establish a winner in the launch information.
When can you buy one, and where?
ASUS’s October 8, 2026 announcement says preorders began October 7 and that first U.S. units are expected October 16, 2026. As of October 9, arrival is forthcoming, not confirmed as shipped. ASUS names its eShop and Best Buy for selected configurations, with the 128GB P16 also listed for Micro Center. No price or live retailer stock was verified, and availability may vary by configuration and region. Check ASUS or the named retailer for current listings rather than treating the announced date as proof of inventory.
