The ASUS ProArt Keyboard KD300 is a 65% low-profile keyboard that keeps navigation keys in a small chassis, connects over USB, Bluetooth, or 2.4 GHz, and can be paired with up to five devices, although it talks to only one at a time. It suits people with a crowded desk who move between a few computers. It is a poor choice if you depend on a function row, a numeric keypad, or a layout you already type on by habit.
This review is based on ASUS’s published specifications and regional store listings. It is not a hands-on test, so typing feel, noise, and real-world battery life are not verified here. Where a figure is ASUS’s, it is labeled that way.
What the KD300 is
ASUS markets the KD300 under its ProArt line, which it aims at creators. The keyboard is a 65% layout: the main typing block is compact, but arrow and navigation keys are included rather than dropped. The top cover is aluminum, and the chassis is specified at 26.8 mm thick.

#1 Best Overall
- 26.8 mm slim 65% low-profile keyboard with arrow keys and aluminum top cover
- Supports wired USB, RF 2.4 GHz, and Bluetooth connections, and pairs with up to 5 devices
- Touch panel and hot key customization through Gear Link, with six setting profiles available
- ASUS RX Red Low-Profile Optical Switches and two adjustable keyboard angles
- Magnetic storage slot keeps your dongle neatly stored and instantly accessible
Who the compact layout suits
The 65% footprint is the main design trade-off. You gain desk space and keep arrows and navigation keys, but you lose the dedicated function row and numeric keypad that many people use daily.
Good fit
- People who work on a laptop or small desk and want a keyboard that does not dominate the workspace.
- Users who switch between a PC and a Mac, or between several computers, and want one keyboard for all of them.
- Creators who expect to lean on keyboard shortcuts and want to remap keys or assign macros.
Consider a larger layout if
- You rely on a numeric keypad for spreadsheets, accounting, or data entry.
- You use function keys heavily and do not want to learn a shifted layer for them.
- You need a keyboard you can judge on feel before buying, since this review cannot vouch for typing comfort.
Switches, typing angle, and sound
ASUS specifies its RX Red Low-Profile optical switches as linear, with 1.0 mm actuation and 40–55 gram-force feedback. Two tilt positions, 4.5° and 8°, let you adjust the slope. ASUS also says the chassis uses two layers of silicone foam to dampen sound. These are design specifications. No independent typing, comfort, or noise test is available for this model, so judge the feel from ASUS’s figures rather than a verdict on how it types.

Connecting and switching devices
The keyboard offers three connection modes. ASUS’s polling rates are listed below; they describe the specification, not measured latency.

| Connection | Published polling rate | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| USB | 1000 Hz | ASUS Malaysia tech specs |
| 2.4 GHz RF | 1000 Hz | ASUS Malaysia tech specs; the Danish bundle lists a dongle |
| Bluetooth | 133 Hz | ASUS Malaysia tech specs |
ASUS says the keyboard can pair with up to five devices, and its footnote adds that it connects with only one device at a time. A dedicated PC/Mac switch changes the layout mode, so set it to match the computer you are using. Confirm the supported operating systems for your market before buying, because ASUS lists Windows 11 and macOS 15.0.1 or above on its Malaysia page and support can change.

Touch controls and Gear Link
Touch panel and multifunction switch
ASUS says the integrated touch panel and multifunction switch can control volume, media playback, and lighting, and can also trigger customized actions. These are feature claims. Whether they save time in your own workflow depends on how often you use volume, playback, or lighting controls, and that has not been tested.
Gear Link customization
ASUS Gear Link is a web-based interface for building profiles, key mappings, macro recordings, and lighting effects. Software and tools are listed on the ASUS KD300 driver and tools page. Check that page for the current Gear Link download and any version requirements before you rely on macros.

| Mode | RGB lighting | ASUS stated maximum | Test condition stated by ASUS |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2.4 GHz | Off | Up to 16 months | Not stated on the pages reviewed |
| 2.4 GHz | Full brightness | Up to 100 days | Tested using white light |
| Bluetooth | Off | Up to 9 months | Not stated on the pages reviewed |
| Bluetooth | Full brightness | Up to 86 days | Not stated on the pages reviewed |
ASUS notes that actual battery life varies with usage, device settings, and environment. The 4000mAh lithium-ion battery is the capacity behind these figures. Because the full-brightness numbers are the only ones with a stated light condition, do not compare them directly with another keyboard’s battery claim unless that claim uses the same mode and lighting.
Price, bundle, and availability by region
Prices differ by market, and the two regional listings found refer to different keyboard layouts. Use them as snapshots from 2026, not as a universal price.
| Market | Listed price | Layout noted | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| United Kingdom | £149.99 | Not stated | ASUS UK KD300 support page |
| Denmark | 1,349 DKK | Nordic layout | ASUS eShop Denmark, part 90XB0AN0-MKB070 |
The Danish listing includes the keyboard, dongle, quick-start guide, warranty booklet, and a charging cable. ASUS’s technical page says no power adapter is included, so check your own charging setup before assuming one is in the box.
Buying checklist
- Confirm the layout variant for your language and region before ordering, since the Danish listing is specifically a Nordic-layout model.
- Check that your operating system falls within ASUS’s listed versions for your market.
- Check the current live price and stock on the official regional store, because the figures above are snapshots.
- Decide whether you need a power adapter and verify its specification against the keyboard’s charging requirements.
- Check the ASUS driver and tools page before buying if Gear Link macros are central to your plan.
The Bottom Line
The KD300 is a sensible pick if you want a small keyboard that keeps navigation keys, switches among a few machines, and can be reprogrammed. It is not the right choice if you need a numeric keypad or a function row, and its typing feel, noise, and battery life should be judged from ASUS’s figures and your own testing rather than taken as proven.
