There is no verified current purchase route for the original Asseta AST token in the available records. The historical project sale took place in 2018, and a later article described a possible exchange listing without confirming a venue that readers can use today. Do not buy a token based on the ticker AST alone; first establish that the asset and contract are the original Asseta token.
What is the original Asseta AST token?
The historical project, also called ASSETA COIN, associated AST with an Ethereum token and the former Asseta website. An Etherscan search result labels the contract as ASSETA COIN (AST) and displays the historical project domain. The contract shown is 0x08ae1da2daba9555061771e27aa6cc83a38f929c. Treat that as an identity lead, not proof that the token is safe, active, liquid, or currently tradeable.
Ticker symbols are not unique. Other projects use AST, while Astar’s token is ASTR. Confirm the project name, network, and full contract address through reliable current sources before taking any action. An unrelated token with the same ticker is not a substitute.
Can you buy Asseta AST now?
A current exchange, active liquidity pool, or official purchase flow for the original Asseta contract has not been confirmed. That means present availability is unresolved—not that a market definitely does not exist. A 2018 article described buying established cryptocurrencies and trading them for AST on exchanges where it might be listed, but did not establish a current listing or name a presently verified venue. Before purchasing, look up the exact contract on reputable, current blockchain and market sources, and check a current official Asseta project channel for confirmation. If you cannot independently confirm the contract, venue, trading pair, and network, do not proceed. No venue comparison is meaningful until current purchase options are verified.
What the 2018 sale records say
The Asseta project announcement described an ICO running from February 2 to February 28, 2018, with ETH accepted and a stated total supply of 33,000,000 AST. These are historical project claims; they do not confirm current supply, sale availability, or market price. The announcement also promoted discounts on Asseta services for AST holders and a token buyback program, neither of which is established as delivered or currently available.

A historical ICO directory recorded a price of 1 AST = 0.001 ETH. That figure belongs to the old sale record and should not be treated as a current quote or valuation.

How to assess a purchase route if one appears
- Match the identity. Confirm the full contract address and Ethereum network against a reliable current project source and explorer. Do not rely on the ticker or a search-result label alone.
- Verify the market. Confirm that the venue currently supports this exact contract and that the relevant trading pair has active liquidity. Check the quoted spread, slippage, and fees before placing an order.
- Check access and custody. Review geographic restrictions, whether the venue is official or independently operated, and whether you control the assets or the venue holds them for you.
- Recheck immediately before transacting. Confirm the network, contract, pair, and transaction details in the interface. Token transfers sent to an incorrect address or network may not be recoverable.
