The ASRock Challenger Arc B570 is a capable 1080p card that can also handle some 1440p gaming, but its value depends on the price gap to the Arc B580. The B570 launched at $219, $30 below the B580, yet it has less memory and can fall noticeably behind in games. Published tests also show that performance varies by game and, in some cases, by CPU.
What the ASRock Challenger Arc B570 offers
The Challenger Arc B570 is ASRock’s two-slot, factory-overclocked version of Intel’s entry-level Battlemage GPU. Tom’s Hardware reported a $219 launch MSRP in January 2025, compared with $249 for the B580. Those are launch prices, not a statement of current retail pricing.
| Specification | Arc B570 | Arc B580 |
|---|---|---|
| Launch MSRP, reported in January 2025 | $219 | $249 |
| Xe cores | 18 | Not stated in the cited specifications |
| Shaders | 2,304 | Not stated in the cited specifications |
| XMX cores | 144 | Not stated in the cited specifications |
| Graphics clock / maximum boost | 2,500 MHz / 2,750 MHz | Not stated in the cited specifications |
| Memory | 10 GB GDDR6 | 12 GB GDDR6 |
Tom’s Hardware characterized the B570 as having 10% fewer cores and 17% less VRAM capacity and bandwidth than the B580. The difference matters most when a game’s performance is limited by GPU throughput or memory; it is not a fixed percentage by which every game will be slower.

The B570 is strongest as a 1080p gaming card. It can also deliver playable results at 1440p in some titles, but the available results show that performance depends heavily on the game. Treat the following numbers as results from the named reviews and workloads, not as a prediction for every PC or graphics setting.
#1 Best Overall
- Advanced Intel Arc Performance: Intel Arc B570 GPU with 10GB GDDR6 memory on 160-bit bus delivers excellent 1440p gaming and content creation performance
- Next-Gen Xe2-HPG Architecture: Features Intel Xe2-HPG architecture with Xe Matrix Extensions (XMX) for advanced AI acceleration and upscaling technology
- High Clock Speeds: GPU clock speed of 2600 MHz with 19 Gbps memory speed ensures smooth, responsive gaming experiences
- Intel XeSS 2 Technology: Supports Intel Xe Super Sampling 2 for enhanced performance and image quality through AI-powered upscaling
- Efficient Dual Fan Cooling: Dual striped axial fans with 0dB silent cooling technology provide optimal thermal performance during intense gaming sessions
| Review workload | Arc B570 result | Comparison |
|---|---|---|
| GamersNexus, unbound 1440p test | About 41 FPS average | B580: 47 FPS; B570 was 11% ahead of RTX 4060 and 23% ahead of RTX 3060 in this workload, and beat RX 7600 by a larger margin. |
| Final Fantasy XIV, 1440p | 75 FPS | B580: 86 FPS. At 1080p, the B570’s advantage over RX 7600 and RTX 4060 narrowed. |
| Starfield, 1440p | 36 FPS | RX 7600 was 17% faster and RTX 4060 was 31% faster. |
The Starfield result is a useful counterweight to the stronger comparisons: an Arc lead in one workload does not mean it leads across a game library. The cited results do not provide a general ray-tracing comparison, so they are not enough to rank the B570 against alternatives for ray-traced gaming.
Is the B580 worth the extra $30?
At the January 2025 launch MSRPs, the B580 cost $30 more, or about 12% above the B570. That modest price difference bought 12 GB rather than 10 GB of memory and higher performance in the cited gaming comparisons. HotHardware reported that some games had a B580/B570 performance gap greater than 30%, substantially larger than the launch-price difference.
That makes the B580 the more compelling choice if its actual price is close to the B570’s. The B570 makes more sense when it is meaningfully cheaper, or when the target games perform well on it and 10 GB of VRAM is adequate for the settings you plan to use. The cited reviews establish launch MSRPs, not what either card costs today; check current local pricing before deciding.

Does Arc need a newer CPU?
Not universally, but CPU choice can affect minimum frame rates in some games. HotHardware compared four CPUs across three games. In Final Fantasy XIV, the B570 and B580’s 1% lows on a Ryzen 7 3700X fell below 60% of the results on the review system’s Core Ultra 9 285K. Cyberpunk 2077 varied by roughly five percent across the tested CPUs, while Doom Eternal produced a mixed result with run-to-run variation.
The practical concern is therefore not that an older CPU makes Arc unusable. It is that an older processor can depress frame-time lows in some workloads, particularly the tested DX11 case, even where average performance may not tell the whole story. If you are upgrading an older system, look for benchmarks using your CPU and the games you play rather than assuming the newest processor is required.
Will the ASRock Challenger B570 fit your case?
Tom’s Hardware lists the board at 248 × 130 × 42 mm and 721 g. It is a two-slot card, but its extra height may obstruct an adjacent slot. Check both the case’s GPU clearance and the space around the motherboard’s expansion slots; length alone is not enough to confirm fit.

How loud and power-hungry is it?
HotHardware described the ASRock cooler as whisper quiet when its fans spun up and measured the B570 as usually faster than the RTX 4060 while drawing barely more system power. That is a review-specific relative comparison, not a precise board-power figure or a guarantee for every system. The cited results do not provide a wattage figure to use for power-supply sizing.

HotHardware’s January 16, 2025 review described Intel Graphics Software as clean and practical, and easier to navigate than the earlier Arc Control app. It includes driver-update notifications, game profiles, graphics controls, display settings, live performance metrics and tuning. The reviewer noted that overlay, screenshot and video-recording functions were not built in at that time; software capabilities can change with updates.
The productivity results were mixed. In HotHardware’s tests, the B570 was weak relative to competing cards in Blender and Geekbench GPGPU. In Geekbench AI, Battlemage performed strongly: the B570 trailed the B580 but outpaced the GeForce cards and older Arc boards included in those cited tests. These results make the B570’s AI performance a potential plus, not a universal guarantee across AI applications or workflows.

How to interpret the review benchmarks
HotHardware ran its tests on a Core Ultra 9 285K system with an MSI MEG Z890 ACE motherboard, 48 GB of DDR5-8400 memory, Windows 11 Pro 24H2 and Intel Arc driver 101.6449. Its comparison set included the B580, several older Arc cards, Radeon RX 7600, RX 6750 XT and RX 7700 XT, and GeForce RTX 3060, RTX 4060 and RTX 4060 Ti.
That platform is useful for comparing GPUs under the review’s conditions, but it is not a promise of the same result in a different PC. The separate four-CPU test is particularly relevant to older systems; otherwise, use game-specific results and your own resolution and settings to judge whether the B570’s performance fits your needs.
