ASRock announced five new AMD X870/X870E motherboards on July 18, 2025. The lineup ranges from an X870E board built around extreme overclocking to models emphasizing fast networking, USB connectivity, or expansion. Those are manufacturer-described features, not independently tested performance results. The announcement does not state prices or retail availability.

What ASRock announced

The five boards are the X870E Taichi OCF, Phantom Gaming X870 NOVA WiFi, X870 Taichi Creator, X870 LiveMixer WiFi, and X870 Pro-A WiFi. ASRock’s July 18, 2025 announcement lists their specifications and intended features.

X870E Taichi OCF: overclocking focus

ASRock describes the X870E Taichi OCF as its first AMD-based OC Formula motherboard, designed for extreme overclocking. Its listed specifications include a 22+2+1-phase 110A SPS power design, a one-DIMM-per-channel memory layout, two front USB Type-C ports, two rear USB4 Type-C ports, and six M.2 slots, two of which support PCIe 5.0 x4. ASRock says the memory layout provides “exceptional overclocking potential”; that is the company’s product claim, not an independent test result.

What to check before buying

  • CPU support and BIOS: AMD lists X870 and X870E support for Ryzen 7000, 8000, and 9000 series processors. Confirm the exact processor support list and BIOS requirement on the product page for the motherboard you plan to buy. AMD’s note that a BIOS update may be required for Ryzen 8000 and 9000 processors applies to 600-series boards, not automatically to these announced X870 models.
  • Expansion and storage layout: Compare the exact M.2 count and PCIe generation, physical expansion slots, and how using multiple devices affects lane availability on the specific board.
  • Ports and network needs: Check the board’s detailed specification page against the devices you will connect and the wired or wireless speeds your setup can use.
  • Price and availability: Verify current retailer listings; the July 2025 announcement does not state launch pricing or a retail date.

The announcement and AMD’s platform overview provide no independent benchmarks or hands-on results for these five boards. They establish announced features, not real-world performance rankings.
