The ASKO OP8637A is a 60 cm built-in oven with pyrolytic cleaning and a broad set of documented cooking modes. The available public evidence does not establish how well it cooks: CHOICE lists a model-specific review, but its detailed scores are restricted to members. In Australia, CHOICE labels the model discontinued, so buyers should verify local stock, installation requirements and parts support before committing.
What the OP8637A offers
ASKO’s product fiche identifies the OP8637A as a built-in oven and lists a 71 L usable cavity, pyrolytic cleaning, child lock, active cooling, a soft-close door and quick preheat. The fiche also names 3D hot air, hot air with bottom heat, grill and fan-grill modes, ECO, defrost, timer, minute minder, clock and delayed start. These are manufacturer specifications, not results from hands-on testing. ASKO product fiche
The Australian specification sheet hosted by Appliances Online gives a different usable-volume figure: 73 L. It also lists 13 functions, five baking levels, one fully extendable telescopic guide level and a temperature range of 30–275 °C. Since the documents disagree on capacity, treat 71 L and 73 L as source-specific figures rather than a single settled measurement. Australian specification sheet

Documented cooking modes
The ASKO manual’s control-panel list includes quick preheat, top and bottom heat, small and large grill, grill with fan, hot air with bottom heat, hot air, bottom heat with fan, ECO, defrost and pyrolysis. A feature list confirms that modes are available, but it does not show how evenly the oven cooks or whether it performs well across multiple shelves.

Does it cook well?
A confident performance verdict is not possible from the accessible evidence. CHOICE has a model-specific OP8637A listing, but its Expert Rating and cooking, cleaning, performance and ease-of-use scores are member-only. The public listing therefore cannot support a claim that the oven is either a strong or weak performer. CHOICE: ASKO OP8637A review
For comparison with another oven, look for independently available results on cooking consistency, temperature accuracy, cleaning and usability. The OP8637A’s hot-air functions alone are not evidence of uniform multi-level results.

Pyrolytic cleaning and the required preparation
The manual describes pyrolysis as high-temperature cleaning that incinerates residue inside the cavity. It directs users to remove accessories and guide rails before starting the cleaning function. Follow the complete instructions in the manual for the appliance’s exact version; do not leave trays, racks or telescopic guides in the oven during pyrolysis. ASKO use manual
Will it fit your oven cabinet?
Check the installation drawing for the precise appliance and market rather than relying on “60 cm” as a cabinet measurement. The available figures differ in format and should not be treated as interchangeable:

Accessories, identification and compatibility

- Find the appliance label and record the full identification number, not just “OP8637A.”
- Give that number and your country to ASKO or the parts seller when checking an optional accessory or replacement part.
- Confirm whether the item is included, optional or intended for a different appliance before ordering.
Do not confuse OP8637A with OP8637A2. A French retailer listing and its displayed €913.64 price refer to OP8637A2, a different model designation; that listing does not establish the OP8637A’s price, dimensions or availability. Copra listing for OP8637A2

It may suit a buyer who has confirmed a compatible cabinet and can verify local stock and support, and who wants pyrolytic cleaning plus the documented cooking modes. The evidence does not justify recommending it on cooking performance alone. Before deciding, compare current alternatives on verified capacity, installation dimensions, cooking and cleaning test results, included accessories, warranty, local service and delivered price.
