The ASKO HI1621G is a 60 cm, four-zone induction hob with a bridgeable pair of right-hand zones, SliderTouch controls and a listed 7.4 kW connected load. Its published specifications make it possible to assess layout and installation fit, but the public evidence does not establish how well it cooks: CHOICE’s model-specific performance scores are restricted to members. In Australia, CHOICE currently labels it discontinued; availability elsewhere depends on the local market.
What the ASKO HI1621G offers
ASKO identifies the HI1621G as a built-in induction hob with black ceramic glass and a frameless finish. The manufacturer’s product sheet lists four zones, power boost, auto pan detection, pause, a residual-heat indicator and SliderTouch controls. Zone layout and power ratings
The four zones have different diameters and outputs. The boost figures are the manufacturer’s listed boost ratings, not a measure of independently tested cooking speed.

The two right-hand zones are the bridgeable pair. CHOICE lists each bridged zone as 18 × 22 cm and the maximum bridge footprint as 40 × 22 cm. Those dimensions describe listed usable area, not a guarantee that every pan of that size or shape will heat evenly. Will it fit your countertop?
ASKO lists the appliance dimensions as 5.4 × 60 × 52 cm (height × width × depth) and the installation niche as 7.7 cm high, 55.8–56 cm wide and 49 cm deep. Measure the actual worktop opening rather than assuming that a nominal 60 cm cooktop will fit. Confirm the measurements against the installation instructions for the exact regional version before ordering.

The product sheet lists a connected load of 7.4 kW and a frequency of 50–60 Hz. Those are product specifications, not wiring instructions. Supply arrangements and installation rules vary by location; have a qualified local professional assess the circuit and installation against the applicable instructions and code.

CHOICE’s Australian listing says the model was tested in 2023 or earlier, but does not expose the exact test year publicly. Its Expert Rating and cooking, ease-of-use, low- and high-heat scores, as well as boil time, are members-only. The public listing therefore does not support a numerical performance verdict or a claim that this model beats competing hobs.

Who should consider it?
The HI1621G may suit someone seeking a conventional 60 cm four-zone induction layout whose counter opening, electrical supply and cookware match the specified requirements. The bridgeable right-side pair is a practical layout feature for compatible cookware, but fit alone does not establish cooking performance.
Before choosing it over another hob, compare the cutout and electrical requirements, zone positions and outputs, bridge footprint, local availability and any independent cooking tests you can access. The published evidence supports those specification comparisons, but not a category-winner claim.
