The Ariston NIS 642 FB AUS is a four-zone, 60 cm induction cooktop with two Flexizones, but the public evidence does not establish how well it performs against competing models. Its listed cutout is 553 × 483 mm, and its specification sheet states 31.3 A absorbed current, so check your benchtop and electrical supply with a qualified installer before buying. How the Flexizones work
Ariston says: “Using the Flexizone you can transform two cooking areas to one large area allowing you to use large pots and pans.” This describes the intended feature, not an independent test of how evenly or quickly it heats cookware. If you regularly use oversized or oblong pans, confirm that the zone arrangement suits their shape and placement.

Does the NIS 642 FB AUS have a bridge or flex zone?
It has two Flexizones. Ariston describes them as two cooking areas that can be combined into one larger area. The available product information does not establish that this is a separately named “bridge” function, so shoppers comparing bridge-zone cooktops should check the control behaviour and cookware guidance in the official instruction manual.

The figures are consistent at a rounded level, but a cutout is not the same as the cooktop’s outside dimensions. Check the exact installation requirements in the manual and measure the site before ordering; the installer should confirm clearances and suitability for your benchtop.
Electrical supply and installation
The Ariston/Arisit 2020 specification sheet states an absorbed current of 31.3 A and connection options of 220–230 V or 380–400 V at 50 Hz. These figures are product specifications, not a recommendation about the wiring or circuit at your home. Have a qualified professional confirm the existing supply and installation requirements for your site.

Is it any good? What independent review evidence shows
CHOICE’s public listing records four cooking zones (two Flexizones divided into four cooking zones), a maximum capacity of 7.2 kW, dimensions of 58 × 51 cm overall and 55 × 48 cm for installation, and a five-year warranty. CHOICE labels it a “Discontinued model.” Its public page does not expose ease-of-use, heat-control, boil-time, reliability, satisfaction or other results, so those results cannot support a performance verdict from the public information available.
