Ares Secondaries funds have expanded their investment in Sabey Data Center Properties, LLC (SDCP), bringing their total investment to more than $500 million, according to an October 5, 2026 announcement from Sabey Corporation and National Real Estate Advisors. The companies did not disclose the size of Ares’ additional investment or its exact ownership percentage.
What changed in Ares’ investment?
The October announcement describes a follow-on investment, building on Ares’ minority equity investment announced in July 2026. The disclosed figure is Ares Secondaries funds’ total investment in SDCP: more than $500 million. The July announcement gave an earlier snapshot: six energized campuses and approximately 251 MW of operating capacity. It also described an opportunity to triple output by 2036 on existing land holdings. These July figures and horizon are distinct from October’s 275 MW capacity report and approximately 737 MW pipeline expectation for 2033. [c003]

The companies frame the follow-on as support for SDCP’s growth plans. In July, they cited demand associated with cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and enterprise workloads. Ares said the investment provided access to an operating portfolio, a broad tenant base, and land for growth. In the October release, National’s Kevin Verdi said the follow-on reflected continued conviction in SDCP’s long-term value proposition and growth trajectory. Sabey’s Tim Mirick said the companies were pleased to deepen their relationship with Ares while pursuing their growth strategy. Ares’ Jamie Sunday cited significant runway for growth as Ares expanded its investment. [c004]
