Samsung washers and dryers can be worth the investment if the exact models suit your laundry needs and the current delivered price is competitive. Consumer Reports’ 2026 buying guide lists one Samsung washer-and-dryer pair at $1,490 with an overall score of 83—a useful model-specific comparison, not a guarantee that every Samsung set is a good buy. That price is a guide listing, not a live retailer quote.
What the model-level evidence says
Consumer Reports’ 2026 buying guide lists the Samsung WF45B6300AW washer with the LDVE45B6300W dryer as a pair for $1,490, with an overall score of 83. The same guide lists the WF45B6300AW washer individually for $749 and the WF45T6000AW for $698; both washers received an overall score of 77. These are dated guide prices and scores, not current offers. Consumer Reports’ washer-and-dryer guide explains that overall scores combine test results with survey data on predicted reliability and owner satisfaction.
The listed pair is evidence that a Samsung set can score well in a particular comparison. It does not establish that all Samsung models perform similarly, or that the listed pair is the best choice at today’s price. Verify the exact model numbers: appliances with similar names or appearances may not share the same features or specifications.

How to compare a Samsung set with alternatives
Compare exact models rather than brand names or feature labels. Use this checklist when reviewing the washer and dryer together:

- Everyday fit: capacity, cycle time, noise, and vibration.
- Installation: dimensions, door clearance, hookups, and whether the units can be stacked in your space.
- Total cost: current delivered price, installation, haul-away, and the retailer’s return terms.
Consumer Reports’ model comparisons include several of these model-level fields. A strong score or attractive guide price matters only if the pair fits your space and usage, and its current total cost compares favorably with alternatives.
What reliability studies can—and cannot—tell you
Consumer Reports updated its laundry-appliance brand reliability analysis on August 12, 2026. It drew on member reports about 108,608 washing machines and 96,315 dryers bought new from 2015 through 2025. The analysis estimates how well a brand’s new models may hold up during their first five years by asking members whether their machines broke or stopped working properly. It is a brand-level estimate based on survey experience, not a prediction for a particular unit. Consumer Reports’ reliability analysis describes its findings and method.
In J.D. Power’s 2025 U.S. Appliance Reliability & Service Study, Samsung had 84 problems per 100 front-load washers, compared with 83 for GE, which ranked first in that category. The study collected 12,755 appliance reliability responses and 1,419 service responses through online interviews in June and July 2025. “Problems per 100” is a survey metric; it is not the percentage of machines that fail. The study and Consumer Reports’ analysis use different methods and measures, so their figures should not be combined into one brand score. J.D. Power’s 2025 study provides the study details.

Together, these surveys offer context for comparing brands, but neither settles whether a specific Samsung pair is right for you. Local service access matters too: Samsung describes in-warranty support and repair options, but convenient repair coverage is not guaranteed everywhere. Check service availability for your location and exact models before buying.

Read the warranty’s coverage, not just its duration
Samsung’s U.S. warranty page says its 10-year washer warranty is limited to the Digital Inverter Motor for washers purchased on or after April 1, 2026. A purchase receipt is required, and additional restrictions apply. This is not ten years of coverage for the entire washer.
The same page describes a promotional one-year extension for eligible purchases made from July 9 through December 31, 2026, at participating retailers. The extension is subject to terms and a claim process. Check current eligibility, claim deadlines, and the written terms for the exact model and retailer; do not treat the promotion as blanket two-year whole-appliance coverage. Factor energy use into the price
ENERGY STAR recommends comparing the label on similar clothes washers to assess energy use and estimated annual operating costs. Its clothes-washer certification applies to qualifying front- and top-load models above 1.6 cubic feet; qualifying combination units and laundry centers can also be eligible. Do not assume a Samsung washer is certified without checking the listing for its exact model. ENERGY STAR’s clothes-washer guidance explains what the label can help you compare.
ENERGY STAR says manufacturers generally design matching washer-dryer pairs to handle similarly sized loads. For the dryer, consider operating costs as well as the purchase price: a heat-pump model can cost more initially but use less energy per load. ENERGY STAR puts it this way: “For a higher initial purchase, a heat pump model can save more energy and money with each load.” Compare the tradeoff against your expected use rather than judging by the upfront price alone.
