But those are manufacturer specifications, not independent proof of warmth or long-term durability. The listings support a close look at this parka—not a ranking of every L.L.Bean winter coat.

Hood, pockets and daily use

The men’s listing specifies a 100% nylon shell, with a polyester fleece collar, body and pocket linings. It lists machine washing and drying for the coat. Remove the faux-fur trim first; hand wash it and dry it flat. The women’s listing also specifies a nylon shell and polyester body, collar and pocket linings, and gives the same separate care instructions for the trim.
