Is ARC Raiders back? Its Steam player count surged to a reported 24-hour peak of 131,388 on October 8, 2026, the day Frozen Trail launched. That was the game’s highest Steam peak since the April Riven Tides update, but the increase coincided with a free-play event and a 50% discount, so the figures do not show that Frozen Trail alone caused the rebound.
How many people were playing ARC Raiders on Steam?
Insider Gaming and GamesRadar both reported a Steam 24-hour peak of 131,388 concurrent players on October 8, 2026. Insider Gaming described it as the highest peak since Riven Tides arrived in April; GamesRadar said the game had not exceeded 100,000 concurrent Steam players since May. Insider Gaming and GamesRadar reported the figures on October 8.
Those are Steam counts, not a total for every platform on which ARC Raiders is available. GamesRadar cautioned that Steam figures can indicate a trend for a multiplatform game but do not capture its full audience. The available reports do not establish an all-platform concurrent total.

What did Valve’s chart show that day?
Digital Citizen reported a historical Valve Most Played chart reading of 127,297 current players and a 131,388 same-day peak at 20:55 UTC on October 8. The outlet also reported a Valve API reading of 126,911 players twelve minutes before that chart capture. These are timestamped snapshots, not live counts or additional peak records. Digital Citizen’s October 9 report gives those readings.

Did Frozen Trail bring players back?
The timing is consistent with renewed interest, but it does not isolate what drove the increase. Frozen Trail went live October 8, while Embark also offered free play from October 8 through 12 and a 50% discount on all platforms at the time of its announcement. GamesRadar noted that free access and sales can attract players; the reports do not quantify the separate effect of the update, free-play period, or discount.
Embark’s Frozen Trail announcement describes a substantial content release, including Pendola Pass, the Bully, Skulker, and Hydra threats, an Outpost weapon upgrade to a fifth tier, new skills, Tethers, a Grapple Hook, and two new weapons. The free-play announcement also noted a €0.25 fee for PS5 in Germany.

Executive producer Aleksander Grøndal told GamesRadar that Embark expected player numbers to fall for a period after changing its update cadence, while hoping larger releases such as Frozen Trail would bring players back. GamesRadar reported that Embark’s plan is to release Frozen Trail-sized batches roughly every six months. The peak is an encouraging signal for the launch, but one Steam high does not establish a sustained recovery or show how many players stayed afterward.
