Aquaria Technologies’ Hydropack X is rated to produce up to 264 gallons (1,000 liters) of water per day by drawing moisture from the air. That figure is a peak rating, not a guaranteed daily yield: Aquaria says it applies at about 86°F and 80% relative humidity. The company’s product guide also lists Hydropack X at $34,999 before installation and reports energy use of about 0.93 kWh per gallon; these are manufacturer figures, not independent field-test results. Interesting Engineering reported the 264-gallon claim on August 27, 2024, and Aquaria’s May 2026 guide gives the operating and product context.
What does “264 gallons a day” mean?
It is the Hydropack X’s stated maximum output—equivalent to 1,000 liters per day—not a promise that the system will produce that much wherever it is installed. Aquaria says the peak rating is reached at roughly 86°F and 80% relative humidity. The company says output falls when temperature or humidity is less favorable and can approach zero below about 30% relative humidity. Actual production therefore depends heavily on local conditions, including seasonal changes.
The figure is a company rating. The sources do not establish independently measured Hydropack X output in a particular home or climate, so it should not be treated as a verified field result.

How does a water-from-air machine work?
An atmospheric water generator (AWG) captures moisture already present in the surrounding air. In the condensation-based design Aquaria describes, a fan draws air across a refrigerated coil. When the coil cools the air below its dew point, water vapor condenses into liquid. The water is then collected, treated, and stored.

This is different from a humidifier, which adds moisture to air, or a filter that treats water from an existing supply. An AWG’s available source water is atmospheric humidity, so the machine’s yield is constrained by how much moisture the air contains and how efficiently the system can condense it.
What does Aquaria say about the Hydropack range?
Aquaria’s May 2026 guide lists three Hydropack models. The figures below are company-stated maximum daily outputs; the guide gives the Hydropack X peak conditions described above.

The same guide lists the Hydropack X at $34,999 before installation and reports about 0.93 kWh per gallon for both Hydropack and Hydropack X. These are Aquaria’s published figures and may change; they should not be read as independently verified costs or consumption in every operating environment. Is the Hydropack X solar-powered?
The 2024 article describes Aquaria’s generators as solar-powered boxes, but the available product-specific information does not establish that the Hydropack X’s 264-gallon rating is achieved using solar power alone or in a particular solar configuration. Aquaria’s later guide says the Hydropack can coordinate production with solar generation. Solar scheduling or compatibility does not, by itself, show that the system can produce its rated maximum without another power source.

What should buyers check before relying on one?
A high-output AWG is a substantial installation, not a countertop appliance. Aquaria says its whole-home units require 220V power, drainage, and a storage tank. Before evaluating an installation, confirm the following with the manufacturer or installer:
- Expected output for the site’s actual temperature and humidity patterns, rather than the peak rating alone.
- Electrical supply, energy consumption, drainage, and storage capacity for the selected model.
- Installation requirements and the total cost beyond the listed equipment price.
- Filter replacement and other maintenance needs, as well as how treated water is tested.
For context, a different product—the Watergen GEN-M Pro—is listed by a US distributor at up to 1,000 liters (264 gallons) per day. That is a separate system, not the Aquaria Hydropack X. The distributor listing specifies a 130-liter onboard tank and three-phase electrical supply; its power and energy figures are distributor-listed specifications, not Hydropack X specifications. How is the collected water treated?
The 2024 article says Aquaria’s AWGs use particulate filtration, carbon filtration, and ultraviolet (UV) sterilization. Aquaria’s later guide also describes filtration and reports company lab testing. Those descriptions are manufacturer statements; the available information does not establish independent certification of the featured Hydropack X or independently validate every drinking-water safety claim. Anyone considering the system for drinking water should ask Aquaria for product-specific treatment details, test results, and applicable certifications, and confirm that maintenance is performed as specified.
