The Aqara Radiator Thermostat W600 is worth considering if its connection matches your radiator valve and you are comfortable choosing between Matter-oriented Thread and Aqara’s feature-richer Zigbee setup. Aqara lists six included adapter types, but several advertised functions—including linked external temperature sensing and certain automations—are assigned to Zigbee mode. The evidence here is manufacturer documentation rather than hands-on testing, so it does not establish real-world heating accuracy, noise, battery life or energy savings.
Will the Aqara W600 fit my radiator valve?
The W600 has an M30 × 1.5 mm threaded connection. Aqara says the box includes adapters for RA, RAV, RAVL, Caleffi, Giacomini and M28 × 1.5 mm valves, and describes the product as fitting most radiator valves. That is not a guarantee for every installation: identify your existing valve type and match it to the connection or an included adapter before buying. See Aqara’s W600 product page and manual.
The manual lists dimensions of 57 × 90 mm, two 1.5 V AA alkaline batteries, an operating temperature range of 0–40 °C and operating humidity of 0–95% RH without condensation. Check that the device’s dimensions and operating conditions suit the location where you plan to install it.
Does the Aqara W600 work with Matter?
Yes. Aqara describes Thread as its Matter-oriented route for connecting the W600 with third-party smart-home platforms. For a direct Thread setup, the manual calls for a compatible Thread border router. You can add the thermostat by scanning its Matter QR code (on the product or in the manual) or entering the setup code in a Matter-enabled app. Aqara also describes adding it through Aqara Home and selecting the Matter Ecosystem option.

Aqara lists Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Home Assistant and SmartThings as compatible platforms. This is manufacturer-stated compatibility, not independent verification that every platform, app version or feature behaves identically.
Do I need an Aqara hub?
Not necessarily. For the Thread/Matter route, the manual specifies a compatible Thread border router. For Zigbee, the W600 pairs with an Aqara Zigbee hub. The connection choice matters because Aqara does not describe the two modes as having identical features. Aqara’s November 19, 2025 announcement presents Thread as the third-party-platform path and Zigbee as the route to advanced Aqara Home functions.

What features require Zigbee?
Aqara assigns several advanced features to Zigbee mode with an Aqara hub. Its materials place linked external Aqara temperature sensors, grouping, frost protection and several automation capabilities in that mode. Aqara says scheduled routines can run locally after setup in Zigbee mode. If those functions are central to your plan, confirm they are available in your intended setup rather than assuming Matter/Thread exposes the same controls.

Aqara advertises adjustment in 0.5 °C increments, a reversible LED display, geofencing, quiet operation below 30 dB and frost protection. These are manufacturer claims, not measurements from an independent test. The advertised open-window function also depends on a connected door/window sensor: Aqara says it pauses heating for 30 minutes when the window is detected open for more than three minutes alongside a rapid 3 °C temperature drop.

Aqara describes linked external temperature sensing as a way to measure temperature away from the radiator, and offers its W100 as a wireless control companion. Confirm the required hub, sensor and mode for the particular functions you intend to use.

Aqara estimates up to two years from two AA batteries; its product-page footnote says this estimate is based on eight months of typical use. It is a manufacturer estimate, not an independently measured result, and actual life will depend on usage and conditions.

How much does the Aqara W600 cost?
Aqara’s European store listing displayed €49.99 when accessed on October 4, 2026. That is a dated listing snapshot, not a universal or guaranteed current price. Aqara’s November 19, 2025 announcement said the product was available through its official site, authorized retailers and major e-commerce platforms, including Amazon, in France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain and the UK. Check local pricing and stock before purchase; availability may vary by country.
Is the Aqara W600 worth buying?
The W600 is a plausible fit if your valve matches its M30 × 1.5 mm connection or one of the six supplied adapter types, and your preferred smart-home setup supports the mode you need. Choose Thread/Matter for the documented third-party ecosystem route; choose Zigbee with an Aqara hub if you want the advanced Aqara Home functions Aqara assigns to that mode. The available documentation does not establish independent heating accuracy, actual noise, durability or energy savings, so treat those as unanswered rather than proven benefits.
