Apple’s rumored smart-home hub is reportedly called HomeView, with an unveiling expected on October 13, 2026, and shipping around mid-November. Those details, along with its design, colors, and software, come from pre-announcement reporting—not an official Apple specification. As of October 12, 2026, Apple had not confirmed the product.
What is Apple’s upcoming Home Hub reportedly called?
MacRumors, citing Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, reports that Apple’s smart-home display will be named HomeView. The name is not official as of October 12, 2026. The same report says an unveiling is expected on October 13, followed by shipping around mid-November, roughly a month later. Neither date nor the name had been confirmed by Apple at the time of reporting. MacRumors’ report on HomeView
What might the HomeView look like?
Reports describe a roughly six-inch, square display in two formats. These are reported designs, not confirmed dimensions or final specifications.
| Reported format | Placement and design | Reported colors |
|---|---|---|
| Countertop | Screen on a polished metal arm above a round metal base with speaker perforations; compared in reporting to the iMac G4. | Space gray, silver, starlight, and pink |
| Wall-mounted | Flat square base intended for wall mounting. | Space gray and silver |
The colors and the difference in color availability are also unconfirmed. Earlier coverage discussed a possible “Rose Pink” finish based on leaker information and software references; the later report used pink. It is safest to treat the palette as provisional rather than as final Apple finish names. MacRumors and earlier MacRumors color reporting

What could HomeView do?
The latest reporting characterizes the software as a limited selection of Apple apps, without a dedicated App Store. Earlier reporting described a dedicated interface with a Home Screen, widgets, and clock designs, as well as household-personalized information, camera-based recognition, smart-home controls, intercom, and media. Those earlier details are reported possibilities, not a confirmed launch feature list. Latest reporting and earlier feature reporting
Apple’s existing documentation provides context, but does not establish what this rumored device will support. For example, Apple says a particular Home feature requires a home hub such as Apple TV or HomePod and a compatible Matter thermostat; it also specifies the latest Home app and location services for Home and Home Accessories. That information is not a HomeView compatibility list and does not confirm its Matter support or compatible accessories. Are accessories or partner products confirmed?
9to5Mac reports that Apple is working with appliance makers, including LG, on smart-home accessories such as thermostats, door locks, and doorbells. That report concerns a broader initiative; it does not confirm a HomeView bundle, launch catalog, or compatibility with any particular product. 9to5Mac’s accessory report
Existing Apple Home devices, Matter accessories, and other smart displays should not be treated as confirmed HomeView accessories. A product-specific compatibility list has not been established in the reporting available as of October 12.
