The Apple Magic Keyboard Folio for the standard iPad is selling for $150, down from Apple’s $249 reference price. Slickdeals reported the price at Amazon and Walmart on October 7, 2026, with free shipping. That is a $99 reduction, or 39% off, and $49 less than the next reputable price it listed at $199.
The “best price in two years” description refers to recent Amazon price tracking, not the accessory’s all-time record. PriceHistory.app records a lower $109.99 price on September 8, 2024. Even with that qualification, $150 is an unusually deep discount for a keyboard case that has typically stayed near $199 or higher.
What the $150 deal means
9to5Toys reported the same $150 Amazon price on September 30, 2026, describing it as $100 below Apple’s $249 price and the best Amazon price it had tracked in well over a year. MacPrices also recorded the sale at about 40% off and noted that the Folio rarely dropped below $199.

What you get for the money
The Magic Keyboard Folio is a two-piece system. A detachable keyboard and a protective back panel attach magnetically to the iPad, allowing the tablet to be used with or without the keyboard section. The back panel incorporates an adjustable stand for viewing and typing angles.
- Built-in trackpad for pointer control in iPadOS
- 14-key function row for common system controls
- Scissor-switch keys with 1 mm of travel
- Detachable keyboard section
- Protective rear panel and adjustable stand
The detachable design is the main distinction from a permanently attached keyboard case: you can remove the typing section while retaining the rear protection and stand. The trade-off is that the Folio is designed around the standard iPad models above rather than the larger or higher-end iPad families.

Is $150 a good price?
For an owner of a compatible iPad who wants a built-in trackpad, function keys, a detachable keyboard and a stand, $150 is a strong price relative to the $249 reference price and the roughly $199 level where the accessory has often appeared. It is not the lowest price ever recorded because of the $109.99 September 2024 entry, but the documented sale is still the lowest recent Amazon price identified by the cited trackers in well over a year.

Buyers should weigh the discount against fit rather than against the headline alone. A Folio that does not match the tablet’s connector and dimensions is not made compatible by the lower price, and the A16/10th-generation restriction is absolute in the product descriptions.
Before you place the order
- Open the iPad’s Settings and check the model information to confirm it is an iPad (A16) or iPad (10th generation).
- Confirm the listing shows model MQDP3LL/A and the 10.9-inch standard-iPad fit.
- Check that the seller, return window and warranty terms meet your needs; those terms can differ between Amazon and Walmart listings.
- Verify the live price and stock because the $150 offer was observed on October 7, 2026 and may expire.
- After delivery, update to iPadOS 18.3 or later, attach the magnetic connector and test typing, the trackpad, function row and stand before discarding packaging.
Bottom line on the two-year-low claim
$150 is a documented 39% discount from the $249 reference price and a notably low recent price for Apple’s Magic Keyboard Folio. Calling it the best price in two years is reasonable when referring to recent Amazon tracking, but it should not be read as an all-time low: a separate tracker records $109.99 in September 2024. The deal makes the most sense for owners of the iPad (A16) or iPad (10th generation) who specifically want the Folio’s detachable keyboard, trackpad and stand without charging or Bluetooth setup.
