The India-market OPPO Reno16 5G (model CPH2865) stands out for its larger 120Hz display, dedicated 3.5x optical telephoto camera and 80W wired charging. The iPhone 15 offers Apple’s 6.1-inch OLED display, A16 Bionic chip and a different camera setup with a 48MP main sensor and ultra-wide camera. OPPO lists Reno16 prices for India, but the available Apple specifications page does not establish a current iPhone 15 selling price—so a reliable current price gap cannot be stated.
iPhone 15 vs OPPO Reno16 at a glance
This comparison uses Apple’s iPhone 15 specifications and OPPO India’s Reno16 5G specifications for model CPH2865. OPPO cautions that Reno16 variants in other countries can have different specifications and prices.

These are manufacturer-listed specifications, not results from comparative testing. They do not establish which phone takes better photos, runs faster in everyday use or lasts longer on a charge.
How the India prices compare
OPPO India lists the Reno16 5G at ₹66,999 for 8GB RAM with 256GB storage and ₹72,999 for 12GB RAM with 256GB storage. OPPO says both tax-inclusive prices were correct as of 31 August 2026, are subject to change and apply to the India market. The page also shows pre-discount prices of ₹89,999 and ₹99,999, respectively; these are not the listed prices above.

The cited Apple technical-specifications page lists iPhone 15 capacities but no current retail price. That means the available evidence does not support a numeric iPhone 15-versus-Reno16 price difference. To compare prices meaningfully, check current listings in the same country and compare the same storage capacity, device condition and seller terms. A dated list price, a current sale price and the price of a used phone are not interchangeable.
Display: Reno16 is larger and supports up to 120Hz
The Reno16 has a 6.32-inch AMOLED display with a maximum 120Hz refresh rate. iPhone 15 has a 6.1-inch OLED Super Retina XDR display. Both manufacturers specify 460 pixels per inch, so the listed pixel density is the same even though the Reno16 panel is larger.

- This phone is unlocked and compatible with any carrier of choice on GSM and CDMA networks (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, Cricket, Metro, Tracfone, Mint Mobile, etc.).
- Please check with your carrier to verify compatibility.
- The device does not come with headphones or a SIM card. It does include a generic (Mfi certified) charging cable.
- Tested for battery health and guaranteed to have a minimum battery capacity of 80%.
Apple lists iPhone 15 brightness as up to 1,000 nits typical, 1,600 nits peak for HDR and 2,000 nits peak outdoors. OPPO lists 1,800 nits typical HBM for the Reno16. Because these are differently labelled figures and the cited pages do not establish a shared measurement method, they should not be treated as a direct brightness ranking.

iPhone 15
Apple specifies a 48MP main camera and a 12MP ultra-wide camera with a 120-degree field of view. The main sensor also enables a 2x telephoto option. Apple lists 2x optical zoom in and out, a 4x optical zoom range and up to 10x digital zoom. The front camera is 12MP.

OPPO Reno16 5G
OPPO lists three 50MP rear cameras: a wide camera with two-axis optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50MP ultra-wide camera with a 116-degree field of view, and a telephoto camera with two-axis OIS and 3.5x optical zoom. Digital zoom extends to 18x. Its front camera is 50MP with autofocus.
The hardware points to different zoom options: Reno16 has a dedicated 3.5x optical telephoto, while iPhone 15 uses its 48MP main sensor for the 2x telephoto option. Resolution and camera count alone do not show which phone produces better images. A head-to-head camera test would be needed to judge photo quality.

Performance: the listed chips do not settle which is faster
Apple specifies the A16 Bionic with a 6-core CPU, 5-core GPU and 16-core Neural Engine. OPPO specifies Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 with an 8-core CPU and Adreno 722 GPU. Core counts and component names are not a like-for-like performance test; the available specifications do not establish which phone is faster in everyday tasks or sustained workloads.
Battery and charging: different claims, not a direct endurance test
OPPO lists a 6700mAh typical and 6490mAh rated battery for Reno16. Apple does not state iPhone 15 battery capacity on the cited specifications page. Instead, Apple gives playback estimates of up to 20 hours for video and up to 16 hours for streamed video, noting that battery claims depend on network configuration and other factors and actual results vary. Battery capacity and playback hours describe different things, so they cannot establish which phone lasts longer under comparable use.

For wired charging, OPPO specifies up to 80W SUPERVOOC and compatibility with certain lower-wattage SUPERVOOC, PPS, PD and QC charging. Apple says iPhone 15 can reach up to 50% charge in around 30 minutes with a 20W-or-higher adapter under its test conditions; that adapter is sold separately. iPhone 15 also supports MagSafe wireless charging up to 15W and Qi charging up to 7.5W. Check the exact charger and regional package before assuming an adapter is included or compatible.

Storage and physical dimensions
iPhone 15 is listed with 128GB, 256GB and 512GB storage capacities. The India Reno16 CPH2865 comes with 256GB storage and either 8GB or 12GB RAM; OPPO says it does not support storage-card expansion. Apple lists iPhone 15 at 171g and 7.80mm thick. OPPO lists Reno16 at 182–193g and 8.22–8.36mm thick, with the exact measurements varying by color.
Water resistance
Apple rates iPhone 15 IP68 and describes a maximum depth of 6 metres for up to 30 minutes under IEC standard 60529. OPPO’s India Reno16 page lists IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K. These ratings involve different classifications and test conditions; neither manufacturer rating means a phone is damage-proof or guarantees protection in every real-world exposure.
Software and what to check before buying
OPPO says the India Reno16 runs ColorOS 16.0. iPhone 15 runs Apple’s iOS platform; the cited Apple specifications page does not establish a software-support end date. Your preference for iOS or ColorOS is therefore a practical buying consideration, not a performance result established by these specifications.
Quick Recap
- Confirm the Reno16 is the India CPH2865 variant if relying on the prices and detailed specifications here; OPPO says models in other countries can differ.
- Compare live prices in the same market, with the same storage and condition, rather than treating the dated Reno16 prices as a current iPhone-versus-OPPO price gap.
- Check the seller’s exact package contents and charger compatibility. OPPO says the India box includes a charger and protective case, while its global page notes that box contents can vary by market.
- Choose based on the camera focal lengths, display size and refresh-rate specifications, storage, physical dimensions and operating system that matter to you. A controlled comparison would be needed to rank real-world camera quality, performance or battery runtime.
