Apple Invites version 1.12.1, released in the App Store on October 14, 2026, adds two practical features: hosts can manually add guests and record their RSVP status, and the Home Screen widget now supports an extra-large size. Apple also lists bug fixes and performance improvements.
What is new in Apple Invites 1.12.1?
The update targets two common event-planning problems: keeping attendance records accurate when people respond outside the app, and making event details easier to see at a glance.
Manual guest and RSVP editing
Hosts can now add a guest manually and mark that person’s RSVP status. This is useful when someone confirms by phone, text message, email or in person instead of responding through the invitation.

#1 Best Overall
- This phone is unlocked and compatible with any carrier of choice on GSM and CDMA networks (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, Cricket, Metro, Tracfone, Mint Mobile, etc.).
- Please check with your carrier to verify compatibility.
- The device does not come with headphones or a SIM card. It does include a generic (Mfi certified) charging cable.
- Tested for battery health and guaranteed to have a minimum battery capacity of 80%.
Extra-large Home Screen widget
The Invites widget now supports the extra-large Home Screen size. The larger layout provides more room for the event countdown and related invitation information than the previously available widget sizes.
How hosts can use the new guest controls
- Open Apple Invites and select the event. Choose the invitation whose attendance list needs updating.
- Open the guest list. Look for the guest-management controls associated with that event.
- Add the person manually. Enter the guest who confirmed outside the app.
- Set the RSVP status. Record whether the guest is attending or has another applicable response.
- Review the final count. Check that the manually added person and status appear with the rest of the invitees.
The exact control placement can vary with the app’s interface, but the purpose of the new feature is to let hosts maintain the list without requiring the guest to complete a fresh in-app RSVP.

How to add the extra-large widget
- Touch and hold an empty area of the iPhone Home Screen until the apps begin to jiggle.
- Tap the add-widget control and search for Apple Invites.
- Choose the extra-large widget layout when the available Invites sizes are shown.
- Add and position the widget, then tap Done to save the Home Screen.
The extra-large option is most useful when you want the countdown visible from a distance or prefer a dedicated event panel rather than a compact widget.

Why this update matters to hosts
- More accurate headcounts: Offline or informal confirmations can be reflected in the same guest list as digital RSVPs.
- Less follow-up work: Hosts do not need to remember separate attendance notes when updating the event record.
- Better visibility: The extra-large widget makes the countdown easier to read directly from the Home Screen.
- Broader guest access: People invited to an event can still respond even if they do not use Apple hardware or have an Apple Account.
To get the changes, update Apple Invites from the App Store to version 1.12.1. The release also includes unspecified bug fixes and performance improvements.
